Moorings Hotel

Absoloutly brilliant stay from arrrival to leaving...after an 8 hour drive we were very warmly welcomed by Raashi who was amazing and as all the team there so hard working, making the three day New Years Package work perfectly :) We had a fantastic room, comfy bed, nice and warm with a balcony and amazing views of Neptunes Staircase (you could jump in it from our balcony haha) and Ben Nevis. The food is great, the service is fantastic, the atmosphere was ace...people on holiday and locals. The New Year Gala was amazing...Raashi and her team really went out to make it special, live music and fantastic food :) All the guys were great and I couldn't get all their names, but a special shout out to Carolann who was run ragged but made sure the night went smoothly. A massive thanks to everyone at The Moorings for a memorable time (also celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary!) We will be back in the summer all going well :) xxx

My partner and I stayed one night Christmas Day. The hotel is in a lovely location right next door to Neptune's Staircase. It was free parking but not in the hotels car park. There is a public car park next to it but you may have to pay for it in peak season. All of the staff are Asian and friendly but not very informative or helpful. We didn't stay as part of their 4 day Festive Package break so we weren't treated the same as the other guests. We enquired about food to be told at 6pm there would be soup and sandwiches available. We went down to the bar at 6pm but they weren't ready so we waited . We didn't partake of the soup as it apparently was very spicy and we opted for 2 sandwiches and a pot of tea for 2 people. The sandwiches were on stale bread and we were charged £20 for the privilege!! The room itself was lovely with a nice bathroom and view of Neptune's Staircase. The large double bed however consisted of two single beds pushed together but was comfortable. The pillows were terrible though We had plenty of hot water and a full tea tray with plenty of tea,coffee and hot chocolate which was nice. The room was very clean but the hotel itself stunk of wet dog and one corridor reeked of stagnant blood. We will not stay here again

Lovely hotel was lovely with Amazing surrounding views. The lady behind reception was so kind and helpfull to my mum when she was unwell. Self check in point if reception closed. The room was large with lovely beds. Left feeling well rested and ready for a long trip home.

As we are not seeing our family from Inverness this Christmas we meet up and stayed 2 night . Saturday night we had the festive menu and had a beautiful table in the bistro all set up for us with Xmas crackers and poppers . The meal and drinks came with a smile, lovely big portions the turkey was beautifully cooked with all the trimmings. We also had breakfast which also was excellent and Jayden who I think is managing the hotel . Served us breakfast and was so kind and brought us a sausage chopped up for our wee cockapoo . The weather was so bad we only took a short walk up the canal . But we will definitely come back in the spring/ summer . Thank you to all your team .

My husband and I stayed here as we were up at Fort William for a wedding. We got a warm welcome and the room was big and had a lovely view. The breakfast was fantastic. We paid £120 for the room and breakfast. We would stay here again although there are parts of the hotel that could do with an update.

The Moorings has a great location, right next to Neptunes staircase. However, for £180 a night, this was our worst value hotel on our trip north. And that was room only without any breakfast!! There was no staff at the check in. We had to find someone in the bar / dining room and although she was very pleasant and professional, it made a poor first impression . The room looked tired and old fashioned. The windows were filthy and the radiator in the bathroom was so hot the room was oppressive to go into. The bed was comfortable but the two grotty little decor cushions should be taken outside and burned!! The evening meal was nice enough but the waitress we had was very dour and unfriendly. I've seen a few other reviews criticising the staff attitude, so that really needs addressed by management. For the money, we had expected more of a luxury hotel so it was a very disappointing stay. Wouldn't return at half the price.
