Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Payne

Had to wait to check in as the front desk person was “away”. Staff was friendly. Hotel is tired but being renovated. Room was average size. Bed was firm and comfortable with a selection of pillows. Toilet seemed to leak as there was always a small puddle of water on the floor. Also noise level was higher than I would have expected.

Very nice hotel. Beds very comfy pillows are also good. Room and bathroom very clean. Water pressure is amazing. Breakfast usual holiday inn Breakfast it was filling. Breakfast area is being remodeled so the eating area is super small. But it was adequate. Front desk gentleman was very friendly. Would stay here again.

Very nice, this seems to be one of the older HIE, lobby seemed a little lacking, etc.., and I was surprised there was no garbage can outside or in the lobby. I had never experienced that before, when traveling we usually have a coffee cup or coke bottle we want to get rid of. So points off. However, the staff were all very nice, it was clean, breakfast good. First impression, we won’t be here again, after staying, yes, we will stay here anytime we are traveling and want a short drive home the next day. Staff made the difference.

The whole staff and the whole town were very friendly and welcoming. This hotel is close to Little River Canyon Preserve and DeSoto Falls State Park. Good location for restaurants in town too. Hotel was clean, beds and bedding were comfortable( such soft sheets), Keurig coffee maker in room, good internet, bathroom had Dove amenities and nice towels, room was quiet, and they had a good breakfast selection.Glad we decided to stay in Ft. Payne and at this hotel even though it was a little more than we thought we’d be paying in the area.

The entire stay was wonderful, even before arrival. I made the reservation using credit card points. A week before arrival I called to confirm there would be a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Tonie, who took the call at the front desk, assured me there would, and assigned my room for the 3rd floor. She was fun, efficient and recognized what I wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't interact very much, though. My fault. The room! The room had a massive kind size bed that was comfortable and the right firmness. The only challenge one might have is the height of the bed. I used my suitcase as a stepping stool. : ) The bathroom was well-equipped with pump bottle of body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. It was spotless. There was plenty of space to store belongings and stash suitcases and a cooler. There is an ice compartment in the small refrigerator to freeze the coller blocks from the store. I will stay again in April for a similar trip. Again, Tonie was amazing.

Super clean rooms. Dove products at the sink and in the shower. Crisp clean sheets. Very spacious king size room. One of the cleanest moderately priced rooms! Hope at front desk was very courteous and kind and helpful. Updated fixtures and cabinetry.

Stayed here for one night with my wife in January 2023 while driving to Arizona for the winter. This was our second stay here, as we also stopped here in 2022. Contemporary venue. Standard and predictable Holiday Inn Express. Quiet, clean and comfortable room. No unpleasant surprises.

Haven't recently stayed in an Holiday Inn Express but will again. The front desk ladies were helpful suggesting places we considered visiting. Hubby and I agreed the bed was probably most comfortible e perienced in a hotel.

We were visiting Ft. Payne for the weekend and stayed at the Holiday Inn based on the reviews. The staff was very nice and helpful. The Hotel grounds were clean and well cared for. The lobby was clean and hand sanitizer stations were available. We had two adjoining rooms, one with a King bed and bath and one with two Queen beds and a bath. The Hotel rooms were clean and smelled fresh. The beds were very comfortable and provided a very good night's sleep. The bathrooms were ok. The King room had a tub/shower, the Queen room had a walk In shower. They were both clean however the toilet tissue holders were very loose and the toilet tissue kept falling off in the Queen room. Perhaps they need to install new holders. The toilets were standard height, not the newer chair height that you find in most newer places. The shower head in the King room was adjustable however the showerhead in the Queen room was not and did not have enough water pressure to shower well. Perhaps it needs a replacement. However, the rooms were very clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast both morning we were there. They provided hot foods of biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, sausages, mini muffins, yogurt, Apple's bananas, cinnamon rolls juices and coffee. The second morning they provided cheese omelets instead of scrambled eggs. A very nice way to start the day. All in all it was a nice hotel and provided an good night's sleep.
