Residence Inn Decatur Forsyth

We checked into this hotel on Friday, June 7th and stayed seven nights. Just checked out this morning. The only positive to this property is the breakfast was pretty good the first half of our stay. The second half was.. not as good. We were gone each day 10-12 hours visiting family, friends, etc., in the area. The policy of this property is a refresh every other day and a deeper cleaning on every sixth day. Our room was refreshed one time, on Wednesday. Every other day I had to call for towels, etc. we are traveling as a family of six, so we do regularly use a fair number of towels, etc., On Friday, the room was fine on check in. Couple little irritations after traveling all day, but whatever. On Saturday, we came to notice the outlets did not work in the bathroom. I contacted the desk on Saturday and Sunday and was told they would be fixed. Also on Saturday, we asked for towels and were told they would be right up - after 30+ minutes I went downstairs. Towels on the front desk, employee was standing outside the front doors. Not sure what happened with this. On Wednesday I spoke to someone else at the front desk who did eventually get them fixed. We had no outlets in the bathroom for days and days. They also did a refresh on this date after missing it several days prior after I asked. On Thursday, the day our room was supposed to be turned over and cleaned, it was left untouched. Towels on the floor, trash still in the bin. I asked about this when we returned to the hotel around 11PM, and was told I could come pick up towels, and that they would not leave the desk. When I got downstairs, two employees were leaning on the front desk talking. Today is Friday, we just checked out. I went to the front desk to drop keys off with all of this written on a note to discuss, after a few minutes at 10AM, no one came to the desk. I tucked this outline into my key card pouch we got at check in with our two keys and ended up leaving them on the desk. I will never return to this property, it’s a mess.

As my first stay at RI by Marriott Decatur Forsyth, I find this hotel to be conveniently located near major highways and nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Check-in process was seamless, very clean and friendly/courteous staff (Brenden), who recommended good restaurants nearby and I'm happy with that. Room 405 is spacious and clean but I could hear people whispering from neighboring room while asleep, fortunately this didn't long. Indoor pool has an open, nice view towards the south/west side. Good selection of breakfast items but I didn't seem to find the waffle machine on that morning (May 2).

Had a great time. Hotel was nice and clean. Room was equipped with everything I needed. Front desk was very accommodating Allowed a late checkout..and gave me a free room upgrade. Hotel was close to gas stations, restaurants and mall. Had a wonderful stay.

The young lady who checked me in was extremely nice. Great customer service was given. Was pleasantly surprised to receive a Welcome Bag with water and treats. Loved the room…breakfast was awesome too…great experience…

I am platinum. They didn’t offer points or anything. Didn’t tell me about happy hour. Then refused my guaranteed 4pm check out saying they were full on a Tuesday. Which is not the case. No one here today. They finally said I could check out at 2pm. And then at noon, they are harassing me at the room to leave. Terrible hotel. I am never had this experience at a Marriott. I am loyal to Marriott. Very disappointed.

The staff was amazing and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was very good with both a clean serving area and dining room. As if that was not enough to sell you they have a tap for the best brewery in town
