Buubble Hotel - Ölvisholt

It is nice experience to live in the bubble house in forest. Though we are lucky that we encounter severe storm the day we arrived, but the hotel does not offer earlier check in or later check out possibility, even the wind speed was above 120km/hour. The electricity cut and light during storm felt a bit nervous. It might be an nature issue, I expect service to be more attentive! For the paid price, i would alao expect service center bar and toillet could be seperate space. it is very interesting experience to stay in forest. But one time is ok, because the service is not good for its price. A pity.

Was told we could lock luggage at bottom of hill. This was not the case. Had to carry luggage up very large hill. Attendant did not help. Nor did he give a tour of the place. Overall horrible experience. Trees were kind of nice but blocked the sky so even that was a bust.

We absolutely loved our experience at the Bubble Hotel. We wished we could stay another night. The scenery around it is just stunning including green pastures with Icelandic horses and the charming path through the woods leading to each of the bubbles. The rooms are so cozy and the beds are comfortable. We slept so well! We traveled with our family of 4 so we booked two bubbles and our kids had their own and they loved it. Be advised that you’ll need to carry your belongings a little ways up to your bubble. We opted to not carry suitcases and just bring a small overnight bag with only what was needed. There are bathrooms with showers at the main office at the front and they are very comfortable. Also, you’ll want to bring sleep masks for the summer months to allow you to sleep well. We can’t say enough good things about our experience here!

Amazing experience - we booked a two day private tour with a night in a bubble. Our guide Egill (Runarsson) was great. Really knowledgable on Icelandic history and myth, and took us to a few places off the beaten path as well as the usual destinations. The bubble itself is warm and comfortable, with the best views straight up. Remember to take snacks/drinks with you, as apart from tea-making facilities at the shower block there’s nothing else there. We were very lucky to get a 20 minute window with a really strong display of the Northern Lights as well.
