Filitheyo Island Resort

Our stay at Filitheyo Island was absolutely gorgeous! The island and its house reef are simply breathtaking, with stunning coral formations and an incredible variety of fish. Our villa was perfect—just a few steps from the reef, making it easy to explore the underwater beauty. The food was incredible—delicious and diverse, with a different cuisine to enjoy every night. The bar was fantastic, and the staff truly made our stay unique. A special thanks to Rabiul and Raj at the bar, who were always kind, friendly, and had the best attitude. The only issue we encountered was during checkout. We had planned for a late checkout to have lunch at the main restaurant and enjoy a few last drinks at the bar, but our departure time was suddenly changed without prior notice. We only found out because we happened to ask at reception. As a result, we left the resort earlier than expected, only to wait nearly an hour on the boat near the airport, which didn’t make much sense to us. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay!

Cleverly arranged resort with lots of trees, plants and a pleasant amount of shade. The welcome was warm with an informative introduction. The staff are unobtrusively friendly and courteous. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday! !

We visited Filitheyo in July a late 60th birthday treat for my Husband . We have to take our holidays at this time of year as my Husband is allocated holidays, we knew this wasn’t the best time to visit The Maldives but as we had been to another island the previous year in May which again isn’t the best time and had glorious weather we were willing to chance it . We arrived at Male to sunshine and 30 degree heat which continued for the whole holiday. The rain we had was in the evening or at night with just a few cloudy days. We were welcomed off the boat with cold towels and smiling faces followed by a lovely refreshing mocktail. We were then shown details of the island any questions were answered and then were given a jet lag neck/shoulder massage. Very much appreciated after such a long journey. What can I say about Filitheyo having already been to a bigger island with lots of restaurants we were not sure if just a buffet would be enough for us,. It was more than enough the food quality was amazing with different dishes and even though we were there for 2 weeks there were no identical days, some dishes were repeated and we were pleased about that with some. The Island is a lovely size small enough to walk around and so well looked after. The rooms are not posh but are kept spotlessly clean and have everything you need. We were in a water Bungalow which was lovely being able to see the fish as we relaxed on the deck but was a little noisy on nights when it rained or was windy. The Sunset bar and pool area was one of our favourite things about the island. The service the pool and the views were great. The house reef was stunning we saw so many fish unfortunately we didn’t see a turtle but the amount we did see made up for it. The thing that makes the Island so special are the staff. Every single member of staff met you with a smile and wanted to make your holiday special. We had few favourites a special Thank you to Mamun who met us each morning with beds ready and 2 iced coffees. Thanks also to Mazin our waiter and Yaish who helped when Mazin was off. What an amazing team you have at The Sunset Bar including Viraj,Mahesh, Dinusha, Raj and manager Hussain. All the staff in every bar and on the whole island were great. The value for money was great with the great food and service at half the cost of other islands . A. Special Thank you to you all at Filitheyo and can’t wait to return. If there was one negative it is the roofs on the Water Bungelows last 5 need replacing and unfortunately the first view you have of the island is those bungalows covered in green tarpaulin which distracts from the beauty of the Island. Hopefully when we return they will be sorted.

Second visit to Maldives and chose Filitheyo for the snorkelling on the house reef and good value. Stayed for 8 nights in a deluxe beach bungalow (had number 9). Bungalow in great condition, very comfortable bed, spacious and well functioning outdoor bathroom and A/C 2 dedicated sunbeds on the wonderful beach with shade or sun available. No intrusive groins or sandbags on this island. We had all inclusive, great for unlimited water, mocktails and soft drinks. Did not drink much alcohol. Buffet food very good with lots of curry choices, other options always available. House reef is great with lots of fish soup, many reef sharks, some turtles and saw one eagle ray. Sometimes stronger currents, but swimmable. Best snorkels were early morning at sunrise. Minor annoyances: please repair the roofs of some of the watervillas because the tarps in place distract from the beauty of the place. I can recommend without any hesitation

All inclusive needs a review. Service, reef, food and rooms are all very good. However, although you can drink as much alcohol as you wish under all inclusive, you are not permitted a real coffee. They have the machines but will only serve instant coffee as part of all inclusive needs. Not good enough considering the price of AI.
