This place is terrible in many ways. The most important thing is the terrible road that leads here. We came in a high-built SUV car,. but for the last 3 km I was constantly afraid that something would happen to the car. The road is rocky, stony, the max. speed is 5-10 km/h, there is only one trail, if someone comes in your way there is nowhere to turn. After we arrived we felt like we were in a trap, you only want to leave here at the end of the tour. By the way, the owners drive a chassis SUV with off-road tires. The services: Well, there is half board. In my opinion, this is prepared by someone who is currently learning to cook, and the price is 370 EUR per person and per week. I am attaching the menu for the first day's dinner, although it is in Italian, but it can be translated. It was edible, but my wife got an upset stomach from the bitter tasting pickled beetroot leaves that were the starter. This half board is far from restaurant quality, only the price is. Breakfast is the typical Italian breakfast, just some sweet pastry, muesli and coffee. The coffee is good though. The second day we had fried ribs and some fried sausages for dinner as a main course. The ribs were not skinned and the sausages had no taste. Starter was salted ham and melon, which was of course good. Dessert was chocolate cream made from powder. Then there is a club card 30 EUR per person and per week. True, they don't give you anything in the world for that, just pay it when you check in. There is a swimming pool at the reception, although the reception is located about 500 meters from the buildings, and the road to get there leads through a steep, rolling gully. According to the hotel map there are other buildings even further away. Since you don't want to go out on the terrible road from the place, this is pretty much all you have to do. If you want to go somewhere, e.g. Orvieto or other attractions, it's at least 1 hour, even though the distance is only 25 km. We booked half board through RCI, but came home after 2 days. The hotel asked for the half board we paid for the whole week and didn't give any refund.

La casella has become my second home. The staff is so welcoming, i feel like I am leaving family behind when I go back to USA. It's a warm and magical place. Breakfast, coffee, lunches and dinners never disappoint. Everything is freshly made by Chef Edmondo with local and quality ingredients. The drivers who took us on excursions to Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio where knowledgeable of the areas every moment felt meaningful and personal. The cooking lessons were so exciting, making pasta from scratch then eating what we made. The road from Fabro has been greatly improved. If you want a phenomenal warm travel experience that will touch your heart and leave you with lasting memories, visit La Casella and the wonderful people who take care of you like you are family. Warm regards, Chef Alba.

Such a wonderful experience full of genuine fun and unique adventure. After our journey from Rome, our small family group were all hungry and tired. Ready for a meal and rest but had no idea of what was ahead. We had been communicating with Virgina, via Whats App. She was aware of our later arrival and let us know that dinner was set at 8:30. We were invited to come eat and totally check in after. So right away, we found that this was a very personal group, using modifications to make it all work smoothly. That's exactly what was needed too, since we were traveling with others who may need extra care. We arrived, and we're guided into a beautiful big dining room with a fully set with wine, large table, along with few smaller set ones. The large one was filled with many of the La Casella family members. Other smaller ones were too. However, one empty one awaited us to be sat privately together. We checked in after the 4 course meal, which we later found was a daily habit for every evening meal there. We had known that many activities were available were available. They had horseback riding and a picnic outside. There were also mentioned market cooking classes as well as just a regular cooking class, where you could follow along with their great chef Edmond. So we scheduled a cooking class with him and Lunch in the Woods. We were then guided to our private cottage on the facility and told to meet at that same main building for a small breakfast, which was also included everyday. Wow. We knew we were in for quite a stay!

I came to celebrate my 63rd birthday, after arriving l was informed that the sauna, which was a "deal breaker "when I booked through RCI:was closed and that it was too expensive for the resort to turn on after paying 100 euros for electricity for a week and there would be no horseback riding as well. I also wasn't informed that a rental car SHOULD BE RENTED. IT SUPISINGLY COSTED 40 EUROS ONE WAY FROM THE the 20 minute train station by taxi, Sandra and 40 euro to go to the market. No cell phone service and no television. Thank God for Grace, mercy, wine and my books

Cute Overall-but a bit outdated. Road/Driveway to Resort was full of deep Potholes and large rocks...not maintained at all.

We had a wonderful experience at La Casella! The food was authentic and delicious and the family and staff welcomed us like family, even on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! The country side is beautiful and the spirit of the people is even more wonderful! They had great advice on what to see locally (definitely go to Assisi) and we loved the cooking class and Tuscany wine tour. Special shout out to Joe whose hospitality was exceptional! Yes, the roads are rough getting there. Go slow, you’ll be fine! And it’s soooo worth it! Thank you all for an unforgettable week!

My husband and I enjoyed six days lodging at this resort in October. We loved the people, the food and the ambience of the property. Very comfortable bed, beautiful views from the room. Within walking distance down a hill to the main lodge for meals. The only downside was we were expecting to be able to do laundry but the washer was out of order. There was a small charge for extra towels, and it was a 25 minute into Fabro to do laundry. When we arrived, it was closed so we took the laundry with us to Assisi and did it there. Slight inconvenience that would have been nice to have known about in advance. It's very quiet and horsebacking riding is available. The onsite bar was also nice for a quick coffee or apertif!

I went to La Casella as part of an international retreat. The family and team looked after all our needs. They even went the extra mile to ensure we had the best experience possible. Went there as strangers and left there and forever friends. Thank you everyone for your generosity, hospitality and professionalism.

We stayed here for 2 weeks. 9 people from my family in two units. Yes, the road is bumpy and long but to us, that was not a big deal. The property is out in the country. We saw deer regularly, wild boars, pheasants, herons and my husband even saw a badger. There are horses, dogs and cats the live on the property. We enjoyed all the wildlife sightings and the pets. Dinner was great every night. Virginia is who helped us a lot as she speaks English. She and her family were lovely and helpful with activity suggestions, showing us how to use the laundry etc. On the last night, they prepared a dinner in the woods for about 30 people. We all made the short hike up, white lights were strung up in the trees, one very long table was a downer with candles etc and great music was playing. We sat with people from all over the world and had a magical time. If you are looking for a modern, city-type place, this resort is not for you. The road is bumpy and long, you may find a spider in your room, the smaller pool/fountain we saw was not in order though the big pool was nice, BUT this place has character and gives an experience you won't find anywhere else. It is also convenient to many places. We took the train to Florence, drove to the Amalfi Coast for a few days and came back and there are more local towns to explore. I recommend this interesting and pretty location.
