Purchased through travel zoo, this was an exciting anticipated birthday treat to myself. A road trip with my Aunt made our halfway stop in our beloved Cornwall a trip to remember. Outstanding in every way possible. The Royal Duchy was everything it said it would be. Greeted by James, the most wonderful friendly, polite and helpful concierge at any hotel I have frequented. Bravo - I hope this lovely chap is acknowledged by the "Brend " brand. Worth his weight in gold. Reception arrival of bubbly and smiling , happy informative reception staff. You simply cannot put a price on these little things after a 6-7 hour journey. Huge appreciation to all. The room was perfect, (despite it being a double rather than a twin, this was not a deterrent for us, being family.) with tea & coffee facilities, but with a twist. A lovely little barista coffee maker, plus hot chocolate, still & sparkling water and a bottle of vino. Facial tissues, full & half length mirrors, good wardrobe space with plenty of coat hangers and suitcase stand - perfection. Bathroom, good size with bath, & shower, All toiletries, robes, towels. Everything one could need. Heated towel rail, good mirror & lighting. But alas no magnifying mirror. Comfortable beds with luxury bedding, pillows with good night lamps and lighting. TV with remote. Small table with comfortable armchairs for lounging and reading the wonderful "information folder", Informative and helpful. Meals - served in the restaurant. Devine! Endless & perfect dining experience. Thank you all so much. Such professionalism observed throughout. Varied and enjoyable menu selection throughout our stay. Lovely selection of wine, 3 course meal with slight changes to menu each night. We conversed with several surrounding tables of guest, all of whom were enjoying their stay as much as we did. Lunch in the afternoon was delicious and plentiful, we had the prawn sandwiches and cocktails in the sunshine. The cream tea was also very enjoyable however the booking for this and waiting times were not so good and this was mentioned at the time. It appears there was a staffing issue that day. Not put off we sat in the lovely grounds and indulged in the coastal sunshine. The spa facilities were extremely enjoyable, although under used I would say, especially during our stay. Although daily swimming for us, with relaxing sauna, and pleasant changing /shower rooms , again with all toiletries and pool towels available. Sadly no jacuzzi or spa treatments. Pool measured & cleaned daily during our visits. Comfortable loungers and hot stone beds. All areas within the hotel are clean, luxurious, comfortable and present the option of relaxation, reading, conversation and communication. Little spots dotted everywhere for everyone, whatever the need. Totally fabulous. Cannot wait to return. Its a done deal. Congratulations to all staff. Your service is invaluable. Everybody, James the porter, Kate the assistant manager, reception staff, bar and dining staff and housekeeping all helped to make our stay excellent. Food was wonderful and plentiful! We hope to return one day.

Lovely friendly hotel, great food. Wonderful views of the coastline and perfect for vising Falmouth's attractions.

What can I say….. everything was perfect from start to finish, everyone was so kind and helpful at times over and above! We will never forget our time here and plan again to come back. Most definitely recommend the experience is fantastic just like their cocktails! Thank you for an amazing stay

Fifth visit to the duchy, this time with friends, as always warm welcome from James on door, check in smooth and quick, room immaculate and spotless clean, breakfast very good, table service for drinks in lounge a little hit and miss, all in all a very enjoyable stay, roll on 2025.
