Cooroona Alpine Lodge

Great accomodation. Great location, service and food. Would definitely stay there again, we had such a great time. Lachy was great and the complementary over snow pick up is very helpful. Ski in ski out was an added bonus we weren’t expecting.

Very comfortable lodging. Beautiful continental, and variety of hot breakfast each morning, coupled with amazing views from near the fireplace are a perfect way to start the day! Mexican dinner and excellent bar facilities, (at great prices) are a great way to finish the day, while watching the sunset from the lodge lounge. Our hosts Lachie, Amy (plus the help from the kids and staff), were fantastic, and made our stay memorable. Lachie picked us up and dropped us off from the accomodation transfer building at Falls Creek. Not only did it save us for paying an exorbitant nearly $90 “lodge transfer fee”(which wasn’t budgeted for, nor mentioned in any any Falls Creek information brochure), it allowed us to meet Lachie, and see some of the village on the way. I think this service was a great intro to Falls Creek, and made us feel right at home with our lodge host. Cannot recommend Cooroona Alpine Lodge highly enough. Mike and Izzy

The facilities and location are fine. The proprietors are not. At breakfast on my second day the proprietor Lachie handed me my breakfast saying “we are politically neutral here, and you’ll have to take that hoodie off.” My hoodie had the word “Yes” printed on it. It is in support for the yes campaign for an Indigenous Voice to parliament. I asked Lachie if he was serious. I was quite shocked to be told I couldn’t wear a piece of clothing in the place, no matter what it said. He replied “yes. We’re a happy place here” as he walked away. From that moment we felt unwelcome and unsafe. My 16yo sone thought it was funny that they took such offence. I thought it was ironic that their business name trades on an Indigenous word (Cooroona means “place if lots of water”) If you care about equity for our First Peoples, please don’t use this place.

Manager was behaving very rudely without any reason.Room was very smelly,and when we complain he misbehaved and ask us to leave. We went there all the way from Sydney.and had to go back on same night without refund.

We have stayed 3 times at the cooroona lodge in the past 2 years at falls creek and could not be happier with our time there. Lachie and Amy go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. Stayed in the superior room was great to have our own bathroom which is unusual at ski lodges. The breakfasts were excellent with continental and cooked breakfast available. We cancelled our dinner booking and ate at the lodge 3 nights in a row. Excellent quality food, generous proportions and very well priced. Great to have a bar and lounge area. We loved sitting next to the fire. Not having to take the oversnow was a real plus. Great value for money. Can’t wait to see you again this year.

Recently stayed with friends for the Australian Grand Traverse event. Lodge was spotless, rooms, very comfortable and very clean. Updated bathrooms, great facilities, great temperature control. Lodge manager Lachie very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast in the morning was good, even provided gluten-free food for the coeliac in our group. Absolutely recommend staying there (not luxury accommodation but a gem) would go back again, especially in winter.
