The villa and property has 180 degrees sea view. The 100 year old stone house was rebuilt and modernized in 2007, while retaining its simplicity and modesty. Upstairs the house has a joint living room/dining room/kitchen, a bathroom and a large bedroom, and downstairs two bedrooms. All rooms have sea view and lead out to terraces. There is a stereo, dvd player, several films and a monitor but there is no wifi. There are also many books, in many languages, also for children. Linen and towels provided. The pool is 3 by 6 meters, not heated. There are several terraces for dining and sunbathing: a roofed one outside the kitchen, one old and one new outside upper bedroom, one under grapevine outside lower bedrooms, and one around the pool. The surroundings consist of farming terraces and flower gardens. The road is reached by private stairs (60 steps). Parking on road about 100 metres away from top of stairs. Vacaciones casa en Madeira
En si el conjunto estuvo bien , aunque habría que mejorar bastante el mantenimiento de la casa...( El lavavajillas fallaba continuamente, el termo del agua caliente es bastante justo, da para una ducha y mitad de otra, faltaría también donde tender la ropa interiormente por si llueve cosa que nos pasó, no hay ni plancha ni tabla de planchar, el colchón de la habitación principal era para mí una tortura, colchón de muelles) aparte falta una buena dosis de limpieza en la cocina había restos de comida en los cubiertos, y en los azulejos y el menaje.estaba grasiento.. La piscina en sí está bien pero faltaba limpieza.. eso sí unas vistas impresionantes, unas bonitas puestas de sol, una tranquilidad increíble, disfrutamos muchísimo esos ratos en la terraza.. Si no fuera porque el colchón me destrozó la espalda lo hubiese disfrutado el doble. Para llegar a la casa tenías que subir y bajar 40.000 escalones al final se hacía muy pesado, aparte que eran irregulares y había un trozo donde no había barandilla, tenías tener cuidado en no caerte...le doy un 6..... Si repitiera en esta casa sería por la tranquilidad y las vistas por nada más.

Another day in paradise
A wonderful cozy place to be.We enjoyed our stay deeply. You could feel the very individual and delicate equiped interior. Simply, but tasteful.Thank you to make a hidden paradise with that house possible for us to visit.

Lovely view, not so lovely insects
Plain and simple: the view is breathtaking.But you have to work for it. As has been said before, you park your car at the church, walk a few hundred meters down a small road and the take 61 steps to the entrance to the garden. I don't mind such a little workout. What I care more about is my food, and that needs to be protected from tiny ants. We first found them in a lovely Bouquet of flowers which greeted us in the kitchen upon arrival. Lovely idea, not so lovely insects included. In the following days we put all food, including bread, into the fridge. We did not expect the ants to get there as well. But they did, and even found a way into a closed plastic bag full of cookies we had bought at the farmers market in Prazeres. Tiny hungry beasts ;)Apart from that, I would agree with those who describe the house as a little worn out. After all the oven seems to be as brandnew as the stainless steel pan. Still: a view to die for.

Couples getaway trip
We had a fantastic stay with Maria. The rustic property was in a cute, quiet, and private location with an amazing view of the ocean. Easy parking was available below the church, which was a 5-minute walk away from the property. The garden and view were highlights of the property that we will always remember.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to anyone wanting to visit Madeira.

Idyllic views at the end of the world
If you are looking for a secluded breathtaking location with a cozy, rustic but functional lodging - this house is for you. Sure there are some insects, and the house is not brand new but it all adds to the charm. And I promise you - you won't find any better view for your swims, dinners and birdwatching. The host was super helpful!
