"Bank holiday weekend with the extended family - Weeke Barton was perfect. 6 x en-suite rooms, plenty of living space with cosy nooks if you wanted. Bedrooms were well appointed and apportioned. The layout worked perfectly allowing the younger family members at one end of the house allowing the less young a quieter morning. The kitchen is large and well equipped and in the dining room there’s a table big enough to sit 12. Outside is lovely - sitting areas, fire pit (we didn’t use) BBQ. We did enjoy cricket on the artificial wicket! A lovely place to stay and we would recommend"

"We went to this Inn for a family of 22 birthday Sunday lunch, and they really looked after us. The food came out after about 15 minutes of us being there, but we were nice and settled at our table. The desert did however, not follow for another 60 minutes, but the place was very busy. The food and service were excellent, as was the warm welcome. Will deffo be back."

Lord Haldon Country Hotel,Sure Hotel Collection B

"Our superior king room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Very large bathroom too with a large bath and separate shower cubicle. Bed was very comfortable and the room had lovely views. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We drove to the hotel from the A38 to the hotel and the lanes were narrow (as are many lanes in Devon and Cornwall) but the drive through Haldon Forest was beautiful. We drove out the other way through Ide village onto the A30 which was a bit wider! Would definitely stay again."

South View Lodges

"We've just returned from a long weekend staying in Cedar Lodge based at the South View Lodges. I cannot recommend this place enough, from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we departed we felt like we were in heaven. We were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly and a roaring fire. The lodge was immaculate and very modern. Jill came in and welcomed us and answered all the questions we had. She recommended local places to eat and showed us how to use the hot tub and log burner. She invited us to come and visit their alapas too! The weather wasn't on our side thanks to Storm Bert but this didn't take away from our weekebd away, the covered sunken hot tub meant we could still enjoy it despite the awful rain and high winds! It was the perfect excuse to actually relax and enjoy the surroundings whilst in the comfort of the beautiful, warm, and cosy lodge. A small selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided, as well as toilet paper and cleaning products should you need them Highly recommend staying here and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! We also met Jill's husband Andrew who was equally lovely and welcoming. Thank you so much for a weekend we won't forget ❤️"

"Beautiful scenery , clean and peaceful the food was cracking I live in over an hour away so it’s a special treat to come to the nobody inn but have been 3 times now and can’t recommend it enough! The staff are very attentive but not over bearing they help and let you enjoy your time which is very refreshing. Thanks again will definitely be coming back!"

Southernhay House Hotel

"In a class by itself in poor Exeter, this small hotel exceeds on a number of counts. Personal attention from a local staff and on-site owner, beautiful curated rooms, outstanding breakfasts, perfect location for walkers (taxi from train station), private garden- quiet and green. It’s an historic home, 1805, of an East Indian company captain, with fabulous eclectic collection of paintings. The man, William Kirkpatrick, is highlighted in hotel literature, but full appreciation of his singular life requires reading the biography chapter of William Dalrymple’s White Mughals ( itself a revelation and delight). If life brings you to Devon, simply sleep here. Rooms require stair climbing."

"5* This was an amazing accommodation. The pub/restaurant is amazing with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor is tasteful and cosy. With helpful and friendly staff. The food was lovely if a little on the cool side, it just needed to be bought out quicker. In saying that my party didn’t find this to be the case. The menu is extensive and the quality of the food was excellent The rooms are stunning. I have stayed in 5* accommodation but this is up there with the best. The web site does not do there rooms justice as they do not capture the full ambience of the room. It was a genuine pleasure to stay there. We will return x"

"Behind us is David's Church and a small area of ​​tombstones. It was a bit scary to see them when we arrived at night, but I participated in church activities during the day, and understood the local culture. I also found the culture shock quite interesting.
