This is without doubt, the loveliest hotel we have ever stayed. We keep coming back and it becomes better all the time. Staying here is like a treat from old friends. Kostas, Natalia and their team work tirelessly to provide their guests with the ultimate in friendly, helpful service and comfort. They make it look so easy, but the effort that they actually put in must be huge. The rooms are airy and well equipped with very effective air-conditioning. Christina keeps them spotlessly clean; towels and bedding are changed regularly. The beds are incredibly comfortable; the mattresses are expensive Greek manufactured ones which we so wish could be exported to the UK! Breakfast at the pool bar is a relaxing start to the day with table service and a menu to suit every taste, together with the bread-basket, home grown and made preserves with delicious freshly baked pies and cakes. The tranquil pool area has plentiful sunloungers, is kept very clean and the pool, although unheated is free of chlorine and a delight to take a dip in. Views over Mirabello Bay and Spinalonga island are absolutely stunning from Elounda Heights’ elevated location. A highlight of the day is the evening meal special, cooked by Vangelis, a superb chef. He has an incredible talent for of drawing the ultimate flavour from any meat or fish. Thursday night is meze and wine night. Kostas introduces each of the wines, speaking of them knowledgably. Each wine is served with a suitable dish to complement it. The hotel is occupied mainly by return visitors who come time and time again, which speaks volumes of this wonderful place to relax and wind down. Thank you, (in no particular order, as everyone works so hard for you) Kostas, Natalia, Vangelis, Ann, Katerina, Christina, Ritsa, George, Eleni, Clio (Yamas!), Manos, and apologies to anyone I haven’t mentioned. Looking forward to seeing you all again next time.
