Villa Cocoloba

Terrible matresses, outdated kitchen that doesnt work and staff/ owners are very bad and irresponsible. They charged me and my family for AC fees last minute without a bill. Lack or organization and communication. Would never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

My stay at this accommodation was not what I expected. The room, although spacious, was not as clean as it should have been; there were some details like dust on the furniture and stains on the sheets. The bathroom was also not in the best condition. The owner is a very rude person and doesn’t know how to treat his guests properly. The air conditioners in the rooms didn’t work well, and the beds were like concrete, incredibly uncomfortable. I really don’t recommend staying at this place. Mi estancia en este alojamiento no fue lo que esperaba. La habitación, aunque espaciosa, no estaba tan limpia como debería; había algunos detalles como polvo en los muebles y manchas en las sábanas. El baño tampoco estaba en las mejores condiciones. El propietario es una persona muy indecente y no sabe tratar bien a sus huéspedes. Los aires de la habitaciones no funcionaban bien, y las camas son de cemento y súper incómodas. Realmente no recomiendo alojarse en este lugar.

Read reviews before booking any of these villas. These people tried to charge me for a jacuzzi malfunction that lead to filtration in the house knowing that it was a structure malfunction and an employee negligence. Luckily I recorded everything and was able to show Airbnb that it wasn't my fault. NONE of the beds are ok to sleep in, pool table in terrible conditions and jacuzzi doesn't work. I tried giving them some feedback but all they want is to make as much money as possible from us by investing the minimum. Also, very creepy decoration around the house... If you look at other reviews, you will find similar stories. AND, they charge you to use AC and only tell you that after you have booked the AIRBNB.

We had a disappointing experience at the old villa due to its poor maintenance. The property clearly needs a fresh coat of paint and general upkeep to meet acceptable standards. Additionally, we encountered a major issue with the jacuzzi. When we turned it on, water started leaking through the ceiling, and instead of addressing the problem, we were unfairly blamed for it. This was very frustrating and left us feeling dissatisfied with our stay.

I had a terrible time at Villa Cocoloba. We are in disbelieve on the state of disrepair and the condition the villa was when we arrived. Almost everything inside is very old. The kitchen table has very unstable chairs that were almost unusable therefore we try to avoid using them. We told the hosts about them, they told me that they were waiting for someone to fix them. the bedrooms matteresses are very hard, they feel like you are sleeping on a rock, several guests including myself felt a spring from the mattress pressing over my back not letting me sleep well. The only TV in the villa was cracked when we got there and we could not hear any audio from it, they told me that a kid did this 2 days before we got there (found strange that they did not fix that before we got there). We informed the hosts about the condition and they brought another TV a few hours later, but when they brought a new TV were only interested in the audio not the big crack on the TV. When the TV audio was working, they kept the cracked TV there taking back the new TV, so we could not view the movies we brought. I informed them several times that I wanted the TV fixed, but they never came back to replaced it. The kitchen is in need of an update and was not adecuately equipped, almost all drinking glasses and cups were cheap plastic with few utensils, few pot and pans. Villa has just one living room but it is sunk in, so you need to use stairs to get in and out of the living room. The couchs are made of concrete with thin padding which makes them very unconfortable. outside the villa has a nice view of the sea and vegetation, but the mosquitoes and wasps did not let us enjoy the time outside. The villa was not clean inside, some of the bed linens were stained, the bathrooms were old and not clean. There were spiders and frogs in the lower level bedroom. Francis brought a friend to provide us with different tours and rentals. Their price with a lot more expensive than what we were able to get ourselves in the town, for example they were charging us US$100 for a 4 hour rental of a 4 wheeler, we were able to get a 24 hour rental for US$50 I would not recommend staying in this villa you are better off staying in a resort or hotel.
