Isleta El Espino

I had the most relaxing vacation I ever had on this island. The room was comfortable and clean. I loved swaying on the hammock in the common area and on the patio outside my Casita. The food and drinks were fantastic. I was there for a week and thought I would want to go into Granada for a couple of meals but the food at the hotel was so good I ate every meal there. And breakfast was free!! The service was incredible. They were so helpful with everything from scheduling tours and massages to making all of our various drink orders to helping us with our kayaks. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Special shout out to the handsome Captain Jack, the resident cat, who let me pet him and said goodbye to me as I left the island. My friends and I are already discussing when we can return.

We stayed here for 5 days and loved every minute. The staff were so friendly and took amazing care of us. The food was SO good! We of course ate breakfast every day and we also enjoyed a few dinners. Every meal was so good. They were able to help us book transportation when needed and even scheduled us a volcano tour and massages. If you’re traveling to Nicaragua and you want a relaxing stay, this is the place.

We enjoyed our stay at El Espino and appreciated the wide menu choice, the attentive staff and welcome drink. We had opted for the package which was three meals plus an hour massage. On reflection we shouldn’t have done this as we really didn’t get through the food they gave us. Because there is nothing to do on the island other than sit and relax (nowhere to walk) you simply don’t want three meals a day. I unfortunately got a very upset stomach from something I ate there. The bar seems to be extensive though the three cocktails we ordered were disappointing and tasted more like ‘mock tails’ so we ended up sticking to beer. Our stay was three nights, I think two would have been plenty

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life!! If you are even considering coming NEAR Granada, you need to book a room here. Food, service, location, room, activities, all PERFECT. The two bartenders / boat drivers were probably the nicest Nicaraguans I’ve ever met. Don’t think twice about staying here.

This hotel is amazing! Sailing out to your own private island on their private boat by Henri, welcomed by Pablo with a complementary drink on your arrival, eating dinner in a thatched outdoor restaurant and staying in a luxury treehouse! The views are incredible over Mombacho volcano and the service is lovely. Highly recommend this hotel.

Everything! From the beautiful private boat ride to the islet, to being warmly greeted w the staff and welcome drink, to the incredible architecture and immaculate details of every corner- this stay was exceptional. The treehouse was utterly charming- comfortable bed, open concept so you hear the nature while still having privacy. The food was the best I’ve had in Nicaragua - all locally sourced ingredients and very well presented. And everyone who worked there was so kind and passionate. I wish I had more time to stay longer. I will be back and will recommend to everyone. You’ll not only get the best experience, you’ll also capture the most beautiful photos.
