Zugspitz Resort

We spent 3 nights at Zugspitz resort, 2 adults and 2 children age 6 and 8. Location - it's outside the village up by the gondola. There is nothing else here apart from the campsite and gondola. This is great as it's very pretty but not great if you want other facilities nearby. The gondola in summer is also phenomenally expensive (so much so we didn't go up). Room - we had an edelweis suite. This was in the old part of the building. Oddly the room seemed to be partially modernised in that it had clearly had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted, but the other decor in the room was really dated and carpets felt old. Kids slept on a sofa bed in the living room, and whilst it was nice to have separate rooms, it would have made much better used of space if they had put a bunk bed in that room and taken out the fixed table and bench seat. Shower was excellent but no shampoo provided. We had a shared balcony. We found the rooms very hot and stuffy and it wasn't even a super hot summer in Austria. For nearly €600 a night, some air conditioning should be fitted. Food - our room was full board. The food was all buffet. Breakfast was OK, but the evening meal was poor. It did not cater for vegetarians at all well. The desserts were the best option. This place cost more than other kinderhotels and familotels we've stayed in in Austria yet the food let it down massively. Drinks were charged as extra including tap water! Pool - small indoor water park with racer tube slides, some other kids slides. Water was super warm. Actual swimming pool was separated in a different section, again heated. Kids enjoyed the pool areas. Play areas - outside play area with climbing frames and pedal go karts. There are also trampolines but you have to pay €1 for 3 minutes - seriously, I've paid nearly €600 for a night and they still charge for the kids trampolines. This is poor form I feel. Great indoor play area - large soft play, small bouldering wall and some ride on cars which seem to work sometimes but not always. Kids loved the soft play. There is also a kids club providing childcare. We did not use, went to enquire first night and the woman I spoke to seemed most unwelcoming. Shame. Unlike other places in Austria where a hotel of similar cost would include a summer card, this one doesnt, again making it not great value for money compared to other branded kinderhotels/familotels which offer similar facilities/childcare but better food/included drinks and included lift access. We enjoyed it but I just wouldn't rush back as not great value for money.

Third time to comes up to Zugspitz top and is always beautiful view. Two times in winter with Rope way and one time in summer by walk is every time nice remember. Always comes from Austria Ehrwald site and will be the best solution for me. My mom and father meets here the first time to stay after more than fifty years together but in Hessen.

We stayed here for the first time last week. We'd seen the hotel previously en route to the cable car pre refurb- what an amazing job the team have done. There are lots of really great surprises around the hotel that I won't spoil for you - the kids loved being given lanyards with room key badges on them, and also the cinema/soft play and especially the go-karts (pedal ones and big enough for our 12 year old). The water slides are a real treat. Food is v easy with kids- buffet style and they were able to find something to eat every night. The rooms were a real highlight- so well thought out, and the beds were super comfy. The balcony was a total bonus with a view of the Zugspitz.

We hebben 5 dagen op de "Deluxe camping" gestaan. Een dikke aanrader ! - Grote staanplaatsen - Zeer grote en moderne douches en toiletten - Wasmachines , droogkasten , vaatwassers -Top hygiene in alle faciliteiten - Kids hebben alles, zwembaden , glijbanen , lekker warm water , buitenzwembad ( ook verwarmd) , grote filmzaal , 2 verdiepingen speelkamer , klimwand ..... - Super vriendelijk personeel ( Daniela uit het restaurant in het bijzonder) - Zeer lekker eten in het restaurant , tegen normale prijzen. - Ontbijt dienst - Gasflessen te huur Kortom je hebt hier alle luxe die de mensen in het hotel hebben maar dan tegen 1/5 van de prijs. Je kan het vergelijken met een subtropisch zwembad bij je camping . Wij zijn Fan en komen zeker terug. PS : Het uitzicht op de Zugspitse is prachtig.

Wir waren hier drei Nächte in einer Familiensuite. Erst das Positive, dann das Negative, aufgrund dessen wir trotzdem nicht nochmal kommen würden: Positives: + Moderne, großzügige Suite mit extra Schlafzimmer + sauber + sehr freundliches Personal überall + auf Allergien oder Unverträglichkeiten wird sehr professionell eingegangen, wirklich top (extra Speisekarte) + Schöner Außenbereich, schöne Aussicht + Rutschen top + gute Yoga Stunde Negatives: Pool, Sauna und Bar sind für die Menge an Gästen viel, viel, viel zu klein: schwimmen im Pool deshalb nicht möglich, ständig stößt man mit irgendwem zusammen oder es hupft jemand auf einen drauf, viel zu wenig Liegen, Sauna wie Sardinen in der Büchse, Bar nach Abendessen gesteckt voll. Problem ist, dass diese Bereiche auch für die Camper geöffnet sind. Dafür sind diese Bereiche aber nicht ausgelegt. Da ist Masse statt Klasse angesagt. Für die drei Tage konnten wir das runterschlucken. Bei einem längeren Aufenthalt wäre ich extrem genervt gewesen. Deshalb kommen wir auch definitiv nicht nochmal. - Klinken und Türen im Zimmer kleben, werden wohl beim sonst guten Putzen vergessen - Trampolin kostet extra, da muss ich bei einem 4S Hotel den Kopf schütteln - Billiard, AirHockey kosten auch extra

Wir waren eine Woche mit unserem Wohnmobil hier. Die Plätze sind großzügig dimensioniert. Der Hammer sind die Sanitäranlagen, die Pool- und Wellnessanlage sowie das Restaurant. Wir waren Ende Januar in der Nebensaison hier und genossen die Belegung mit ca. 30%.
