The lodge is amazing in all aspects. It is situated perfectly on the edge of the Kruger national park’s river border and there are lots of opportunities for wildlife sightings. We stayed for four nights and saw herd of elephants, impalas, and hippos roaming the river banks in front of the lodge. The room was fantastically clean and homely with many facilities like a kitchenette, king bed, bath tub, shower, a private dipping pool, and a hot/ cold water dispenser. There were also many little touches such as a bird feeder directly in front of the porch, a big torch in the room in case you wanted to wander the premises at night, and a bucket of ice which the staff refilled daily. The food was unforgettable - packed breakfasts for safari tours include far more than one can eat (muffin, sandwich, banana, apple, biltong, biscuits, cheese, canned drink, chips); the lunch menu was simply but wholesome; dinner was decadent and served hot. The staff was excellent - Dennis drove us from and to the airport and was our guide for the panorama route; Leanne, the owner, was so forthcoming in sharing her conceptualisation and stories of the lodge; even the service staff were extremely polite and helpful. We had a great time and would definitely love to be back!

My wife and I recently spent a week at Kambaku River lodge. We had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. The owner Leanne and her staff were very friendly and helpful, we especially enjoyed interacting with Dennis who lit our campfire every evening and also Celeste and Miriam in particular. The dinners , we looked forward to every night and were never disappointed by the variety or the taste and quality of the food. Leanne's attention to the finest detail in the room was also noticeable. We saw a lot of game just from our patio and had a really relaxing week as we were hoping for. We will definitely return soon....

Most amazing experience and already the second time for us - probably not our last either. From the moment you arrive, you’re relaxed and can leave all worries behind you. The staff is amazing, food is delicious and the location is just surreal. 100% recommend!

We had an unforgettable stay at Kambaku Luxury River House. It was the perfect place to relax with friends, spacious, cosy, and beautifully decorated. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The game drives into Kruger were action-packed, with incredible wildlife sightings, and the food was amazing. Evenings by the pool, with stunning river views, were the ideal way to unwind. The lodge is solar-powered, which is great for sustainability, and the curio shop offers unique items to take home. Kambaku Luxury River House is a perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and eco-friendly luxury. Can’t wait to return!

The lodge was designed to ensure maximum privacy. The rooms are beautifully and well laid out with every amenity you need. Every charming fitting was carefully selected. Loved my monkey chandelier. For me the filtered cold water dispenser was a winner. Got to see 12 hippos grazing next to the river and an egyptian goose tending to her gosslings. At night I heard the hyenas in the Park. The screen doors on the rooms keep out the insects and I did not even have to use the airconditioner. The fan and fresh air accompanied by all the night sounds lulled me to sleep. The fresh food was amazing. They also have a wonderful wine selection. Being able to communicate with my hosts via an App and WhatsApp made for a seamless experience without staff hovering around me unnecessarily. The pool was the perfect temperature. Every night a fire is lit next to your veranda thereby creating an authentic bush experience. The staff were all super efficient and extremely helpful. This lodge is located about 22 minutes from the Malelane Gate making it ideal for a day or few hours visit to the Kruger. I have high quality standards and always appreciate excellence when it crosses my path. Well done to all involved with Kambaku River Lodge - you got the recipe right for an unforgettable experience!

we stayed here for our honeymoon and we could not recommend more! This was our first stop in South Africa and we would go back 10x over. The staff is the friendliest and most welcoming, the food is delicious, and the views and amenities are top tier. We loved every second here and the two safari trips we took with them were unbelievable! cannot recommend more for a stay as a couple or even With your family.

Our stay here was just perfect in every aspect! From the beautiful lodge (we had our own house) with private pool and private breakfast/dinner on our terrace to the astonishing view into the Kruger and the superb food and service we couldn’t have wished for more!

I stayed at Kambaku for 2 nights but probably should have stayed for longer! It is a beautiful small boutique lodge, with everything you need. There was a good amount of game that came to the river opposite the lodge - impala, nyala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, elephants and even a lion! Plus lots of birds. I hired the photography hide for a day and while there wasn't as many birds as I was expecting, I had many elephants come to visit. There was a herd of 11 that came, and also a lone bull that came about 6 times over the day and night. It was an incredible experience to be so close to them. The hide is well designed, with great reflections and aesthetics in your photos, plus the use of gimbals, bean bags, comfy chairs, charging points, and spot lights at night. The pool was very welcome on a hot day, and the rooms seemed to stay quite cool even thought it was very hot outside. The only warning is that the rooms (I stayed in the Shawu room) are not really suitable for friends sharing, since the shower and bath are open to the room. The dinners were lovely. Note that you don't have choice - you are given whatever they are cooking that night, but they do cater for dietary requirements. My vegetarian and pescetarian meals were excellent.
