The lodge staff were welcoming and made us feel like family. Our guide Ollie and tracker Heaven were the best. Engaging and very knowledgeable. They took good care of us. The food was delicious and the rooms were beautiful. The entire experience was amazing. Highly recommend.

Lion Sands Tinga was absolutely fantastic! Everything from our warm welcome, great rooms, great game drives, and wonderful food and drinks made it so worthwhile! Our Game Ranger Dre, and Tracker Wanted were awesome. They were so fun but knowledgeable, and we were so lucky with our sightings! Our helper Benny, and the reception staff and Nicole made it all so special! Pretty and Thembisile kept our rooms clean and tidy, and the Spa treatment by Nhlengiwe was fabulous!. Tasty tasty food. Chef Civilised even made us a curry! We were well and truly looked after. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! From Mark, Sharmain and Josha

Amazing experience! We saw an abundance of wildlife that Michael alludes to in another August 2025 review (we were together in the same game drives). Sam and Ntsako were fantastic in their respective roles. Benny our butler was great. Clara and Vusi made sure our room was well maintained throughout the stay. Apologies for the names of the team members that escape me, but as a whole the entire team at Lion Sands couldn't have been more accommodating throughout our stay. They really want their guests to have a once in a lifetime experience and it shows. My wife and I both highly recommend this lodge for anyone interested in a safari adventure! Also the drive to the airport is no more than 5 minutes, which is quite nice after a long day(s) or travel to get there from America.

Buffalos by the hundreds, Elephants in groups of 20, two separate prides of ten Lions each, three Leopards, two Rhinos, two fighting Giraffes (and many peaceful Giraffes), one Civet, Warthogs, Hippos, Zebras, Kudu, Nyala, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, and more Impalas than we could count. Our guide Sam and tracker Ntsako maximized our 4 night stay! And all of these sightings were right alongside our vehicle. So close that as a pride of lions approached us, a curious cub licked the boot of our tracker who remained motionless as the dominant male was on 3 feet further away! We connected well with Sam and Ntsako who answered our every question and shared their knowledge. Not only were they trained and certified, but they were following in their fathers’ and grandfathers’ professions of guiding and tracking. The lodge was comfortable. The food was incredible and nicely presented. The staff made arrangements so my wife with her wheelchair could participate in all the activities like dinner in the Bush. We really enjoyed our visit, especially the vervet monkeys playing on our private balcony and the Nyala we had to walk around to get from our cabins to the lodge!

Fantastic. Very close to Shekuza Airport so the transfer took only 10 mins. Beautiful Lodge and fab rooms overlooking Sabi River. We watched elephants , hippos and water Buffulo stop for drinks. The game drives were fantastic even though the weather wasn’t great. Saw all the big 5 and had some wonderful food. Couldn’t fault the service. Our 3rd safari and just as good as the other 2. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Lion Sands Tinga Lodge for 2 nights but wished we stayed longer. First of all, Our Field Guide Ollie and Tracker Heaven were THE BEST in our opinion. Their knowledge of the animals, birds and fauna were impeccable! If you get these two, consider yourselves lucky! The manager Mr. T was always happy and welcomed us back with big waving arms. Pinky was fabulous with the food which was by far the best Safari food we’ve ever tasted. The photographer is great with helping you with the photos or he can be rented out to capture your photos so you can relax and watch the animals. (He actually helped us acquire a beautiful photo for our home back in the states.). Accommodations are large, spacious and top notch! I’m recommending this lodge to all my family and friends.

Unbelievably fabulous! Excellent safaris and animal sightings. The staff is beyond excellent!. I would highly recommend this wonderful place. The rooms are luxurious with every amenity included. I especially enjoyed the outdoor barbecue under the stars!
