Me and my girls decided to come to Wales after being in London for the past few days. We had originally booked a sheperds hut in a nearby village, but there had been a booking issue, so we came here: bad mistake. The inn is in a beautiful location, shame the inn was not. Weird smell running through the place, beds were not comfy.

Had a lovely stay at Cadwgan house. Fantastic breakfast (above average i would say), i had veggie sausages/beans/toms and mushrooms. Lovely cereals with extras like nuts/dried fruit/seeds for those wanting healthy options. Coffee really nice as well. Overall very well run hotel, great location for the beach and nicely furnished bedrooms.

Booked the suite family room for 1 night stay, it was absolutely wonderful. The room was very well equipped and a decent size for a family of 4 too. It was lovely to see the good selection of teas / coffees too with a generous amount of milk / sugar to enjoy your drink with unlike the stingy amount you get with well known chain hotels! Breakfast was absolutely delicious too and cooked to perfection, the girl serving the breakfasts was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. We had a really nice walk down to the entertainment complex at the end of the road on the evening which offers live entertainment/ disco for kids etc. There's a sign up saying renovations are ongoing but that didn't affect our stay at all. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.... Thank you!

We booked to stay for the weekend but due to a family emergency back home only stayed for 1 full night and half a night. We found the owners to be super friendly, so helpful and kind. Offered local information. Had a good chat with them and their daughter is very professional and a lovely girl too. The breakfast was very nice I had the avocado on toast with poached eggs and husband had English breakfast, daughter had jam on toast and a pain au chocolat. Coffee and fresh juice are also available as well as water and teas. Our room had a double and 1 single bed, a wardrobe dressing table which had a kettle and tea, coffee making facilities aswell as biscuits, 2 bedside tables and a really good sized en suite bathroom with shower cubicle. We were on the top floor and the views are great. The grounds are gorgeous and are kept lovely. Very pretty. Although it is right next to the railway track we didn't once hear a train pass. It's very quiet. Overall we had a lovely stay even though it was cut short. Hospitality of the couple who run this place is great and the location is a short drive from the seaside town or Barmouth, castle a short drive away and some waterfalls about 17 minutes drive where you can pay £4 for a car for the day and go on a nature walk or riverside walk and follow it up the falls. Stunning. Perfect location. Will definitely come back. Thank you

Although there is a distinct smell as you walk in, I think this is down to the building being old and it used to be a pub. It looks like the current owners are renovating as well. We didn't let the smell bother us and just opened the windows in the room. We stayed for 2 nights and found the room to be clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok and the young lady serving was very quick and pleasant. Its a shame they don't offer evening meals but we walked to the pub at the bottom of the lane and had meals there. It's in a lovely peaceful location with nice views of the fields and sea. We visited Barmouth one day and Portmeirion the next and enjoyed the stay. The cold water tap in the bathroom was really difficult to turn off and probably should have mentioned this but that's the only negative we have.

I had a comfortable relaxing stay at Cadwgan House. The rooms are of good proportions, beautiful countryside to sea views. There is some work still being carried out but if you speak to the lovely owners Jo znd Richard they will honestly and openly tell you what is happening. Does it ruin your stay? No is my answer. Clean fresh linen on the beds, good towels, good selection of hot drinks on the tray in your room and a quiet location to recharge. I have read a few negative reviews but I did not experience these horror stories and from those staying at the same time I spoke to neither did they. Will return and hope to see the lovely renovations complete. Keep up the good work and keep your heads held high from the awful negativity of mean people.

On a sunny Saturday and this was the only available option. Should have slept outside with the sheep. The shower door was difficult to close and even more difficult to open. Not a fun position as the water switch would not turn off. On top of all this the main fire alarm sounded. The inn was in very poor physical condition and smelled of rotting carpet. A real fire hazard. The worst B&B in 3 weeks in the UK. Good breakfast and no noise from the adjacent passing trains. 25 minute walk to the beach at a fast clip.

My mate booked on a whim after we were late catching the coach to Llandudno. It was already too expensive for me at £100 a night. When we got there, the place was dingy and neglected. The plaster on the walls in the bar area was crumbling and the fireplace was stuffed with cardboard. The landlady had all her washing in piles for ironing on a massive ironing board. She told us our room number and we had to find it ourselves. The room was small, it just fitted a double and single bed. The tiolet and shower was a tight squeeze, if you're on the heavier side then don't expect to shower there. The towelling rail was coming off the wall. By 90clock, we were tired from travelling and was watching the TV.The 'hotel' advertised a flat screen tv but it was a computer screen instead. I joked the room reminded me of cell block H, when suddenly all the electrics went off as if it was lights out time. But we found out later, it was a power cut. The kettle was too far away from the socket, we had to boil it on the bed . Before we could sleep, we had the noises of other guests trample up the stairs and slam their doors. Next morning we came down for breakfast, between 8 and 9 am We both had the full English, which was a bit small but tasty. I asked for scrambled but got a normal fried egg. The place has such potential and could be a goldmine in the right hands, but it has been obviously neglected.
