I'd advise bookin. Visited the restaurant twice because we really liked it the first time. I had the Mongolian beef, it was delicious, better than my own! My daughter had the lasagne which she thoroughly enjoyed. My husband had the scampi, also delicious. Only point I'd like to make about our meals the first night, and it's not a negative point, goodness are they large portions! Well worth the money but be prepared for LARGE portions. We turned up the next evening, again with no reservation, and were initially seated in the beer garden. It was a pleasant evening so we didn't mind. Blankets are available for hire. The menu for the beer garden is smaller than the main restaurant but still varied. We had learned from the previous evening and ordered smaller portions where applicable. My Caledonia burger was cooked perfectly, everyone else's meals were equally as good. We were asked if we wanted to move inside when a table became available, we did, and the staff were great at moving our drinks and food quickly. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Memorable for the wrong reasons. Went here for the first time in a long time. The servers were so SLOW, despite it being at the end of the busy Sunday Lunch service and before the start of the evening service. The food was really good. Had a smoked Haddock Mornay that was so tasty and Haggis fritters. Was looking forward to a Birthday Dessert, but service was so slow that eventually skipped this. When finished our mains, we were left sitting waiting on the table to be cleared and to be asked if there was anything else we wanted, that was not to be. Went to the bar to pay and mentioned this, but the staff appeared disinterested. Great food (thanks chef), but very poor service. Will be a while before I am going to be back..

Excellent. I requested a table for 6 for lunch at the last minute, the Fort went above and beyond and moved a few tables around to accommodate us. Good menu with something for everyone: everything from soup, baked potatoes, burgers, to a full blown lunch and all proper sized helpings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices are not ridiculous. We all agreed we had had a very positive experience. We’ll be back again soon.

Excellent meal, very happy with food steak pie was delicious as was the fish. Staff were very pleasant and happy. Prices were really good value for money. Spent less than I was expecting. An amazing place for a meal in Broughty Ferry Dundee! .

3 of us came for tea on 12th October, I ordered Fish, Chips, Onion Rings & Mushy peas all of which were served warm, my wife had the Haddock Mornay which she said was fabulous & nice & hot, my Sister-in-Law had the Steak Pie which was warm. Come on guys, what is going on? Your food is usually amazing but last night was a farce - The waitress that served us was amazing. We will be back, but we’re thoroughly disappointed with last nights food

Had a great meal in the beer garden. Service was excellent. I’m partially disabled and one of the waiters went out of his way to ensure I was comfortable by giving me a lovely cushion for my back. The food was first class as well. Will definitely be returning.
