Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue

Extremely comfortable bed, staff very helpful. Stayed for one night and it was very good night sleep. We did not eat here this time but last time the breakfast was extremely tasty. All in all I would book here again for the price I paid. Parking also was easy and plenty of spaces to be had this time.

Where to start… • GDPR breaches • guests ill from chemicals • Other guests walking into rooms through the night - same rooms allocated to multiple guests • cctv that suddenly stops working when footage is requested • Assistant manager with 0 customer service skills. • Manager who happily throws his staff under the bus. • I have been seeking advice elsewhere, I would urge all guests who have been through the same, do the same. I had booked this hotel last minute, solely for a place to get my head down after long days visiting at the hospital. The first night the room I was given, had a very strong smell similar to paint/white spirit. I assumed there had been some painting done that day. However the fumes then started to give me a headache, dizziness and sickness. When I was able to go to reception I was allocated a different room by Lucy (?) that evening the assistant manager Dylan informed me it’s not paint they don’t paint the hotel, and stated Its chemicals. Naturally concerned with how ill it made me and the reasons for my stay. After speaking to a consultant it was agreed I needed to know which chemicals before I could re enter the ward. I had informed Dylan with regards to this, stated he couldn’t tell me anything. However when i contacted the council, Dylan panicked and told me it’s “cleaning chemicals” for chemicals to be that potent for over 16 hours he then tried to tell me it’s apple air freshener After a SAR request to the hotel, the CCTV suddenly stopped working. Originally told no sound, then they stepped it up to the full system failing. Information shared around other guests- names, address, issues etc all shared. Including length of time guests have been there/ will be there. Staff standing outside the hotel getting stoned. Same rooms allocated to multiple guests which resulted in guests walking into other rooms through the night. 4 weeks later and still no answers, customer service team are 0 help.

I had to send back my food twice, the waitress agreed that she wouldn’t eat it. She was lovely, and said lots of people complained about the food. The room was small, but adequate. Decent bed. Definitely not worth £72 per night, when there are other options nearby at a similar rate.
