My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights over Labor Day weekend. The room itself wasn’t terrible but could have used some minor repairs and upkeep - the toilet would run every so often and the toilet seat was loose. The real problem arose when we went to leave. When I went out to get my car I found my car window was smashed and some items and a small amount of cash was missing. Broken glass was all over my kids’ car seats, the back seat, and floor. I suppose the only good thing was that I didn’t leave anything of significant value in my vehicle. The hotel staff were not very helpful or sympathetic, the manager briefly told me he would check the cameras but disappeared shortly after and I didn’t see him again. The employee at the front desk treated us rudely and acted as if this was our fault for having a nice car. They don’t have many cameras in the parking lot and I later found out from the police that there wasn’t any camera covering the spot I was parked. After having the police respond and collect fingerprints, I requested to speak to the manager before I left and was told he would follow up with me. That was two weeks ago and I have not heard anything back. I realize that it is not directly the hotel’s fault that this happened nor are they responsible for fixing the damages, but the least they could have done is offered to provide supplies to clean up the broken glass all over my kids’ car seats, offer an additional night, or discount because of this unfortunate event. My wife was very distraught and had to walk the kids to a Starbucks nearby while I cleaned up the glass with the help of some relatives in the area. Next time we travel to this area we will be staying at a different hotel or Airbnb. Customer service this poor says a lot about a business, and I would caution anyone else with a “nice” car or traveling with a family to steer clear of this hotel.
