Premier Inn Doncaster (Lakeside)

Premier inn is pretty predictable. You know what you are going to get, and when booking with an offer it is good value. I do have a few niggles about Premier inn in general: the beds are stupidly high. As a 5 foot 4 person I really struggle to get onto the bed. They are also not very comfortable - too firm. My stay at Doncaster was fine and as expected - good evening meal at the attached Beefeater, decent breakfast. Major gripe: I wanted to stream a TV show on iPlayer. It kept dropping on the free wi-fi so I paid to upgrade to the ultimate wi-fi - and saw zero difference. What a let down. I’ll use Premier Inn again but won’t bother paying for their wi-fi.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was clean. The reception staff were friendly and very happy to help. Thank you! Had a lovely meal at the Beefeater next door and also buffet breakfast which we enjoyed. Again, friendly staff - the chef was very busy and we enjoyed his cooked breakfast. Been to this hotel several times and never been disappointed. Only downside is windows not opening and having to constantly mess with aircon/heating. Great location near the shops and eating places and lovely lake just across the road. We’ll be back!

On arrival at check-in we were greeted with a warm friendly welcome from a very polite receptionist. We were fortunate to be given a ground floor room 404 and was able to park car outside our window. Our room was warm, very clean good shower everything we needed. Will definitely return.

On arrival at Reception @15.20hrs 24/01/2025, two lady Receptionists on the desk, one was dealing with a customer, the other was just gazing at her laptop totally ignoring me, I felt I was invisible! No acknowledgement of my presence whatsoever. I suggest this person is given some customer service training. I believe I was waiting around 7-10 minutes to register my arrival. No apology for the delay was forthcoming, possibly because the ONLY customer serving receptionist didn't want to embarrass her colleague?? The first room I was offered had to be rejected (Room 407), due to the chair having the most uninviting stain on the seat base cushion. It was so huge, I could not believe why the chair had not been removed from the room and replaced with an acceptable one. The second room was completely fine (Room 408) These rooms were in the annex. On a positive note. The Annex room was quiet and warm. The Beefeater next door gave excellent service from start to finish. The greeter at the entrance door to the waitress and the bar staff all very friendly and efficient. Food served was excellent, drinks great choice. One of the best I have been too. Finally would I choose this Premier Inn in the future should I need too?, the answer would be yes, great location, plenty of free parking space (at the time and date of my visit). I only hope that my concerns would be addressed and that it was only a ‘one off’, not to be repeated again.

We had a fantastic stay at this premier inn. staff were lovely and the room was clean. we booked it as we wanted to a break away from the kids. Lake not too far from the hotel and food outlets near by. the only down side was you can't open the bedroom window
