Palm Malinamoc Hotel

首先一個東帝汶沒有什麼特別好玩的，從旅遊資源來説比較匱乏，交通也不方便，物價還比較高，然後就這個酒店而言也一般般吧，有點像國內的人招待所設施比較老舊創業比較小，房間裏面沒有拖鞋，沒有牙刷等洗漱用品的自帶然後沒有送的礦泉水，衹有桶裝水服務的話衹能説湊合吧，免費的早餐都比較小一點，可能是離機場比較近，交通方便一點，整個東帝汶的基礎設施真的很差

房間很大，設施老化，沒有人住，晚餐海鮮飯卻是湯飯，曬乾的牡蠣有幾個，吃第二天人不舒服，工作人員挺熱情。

This is the only hotel we found which had a two bed rooms with separate bath rooms. The hotel is tucked away in a side street. The hotel consist of single-story building with a nice garden and trees. Very nice from the outside. Once you open the door of your apartment you will be in a little bit of a shock. The furnitures and room facilities, including kitchen, bath rooms, wardrobes look very dated. The bathroom is not what you expect for such a price. Extremely basic. You can also forget the wifi. It is totally unreliable. Every few minutes there is no connection. Don’t forget to buy a SIM card at the airport. Also, don’t expect a fancy breakfast. Some fruits, eggs and bread. Now the positive experiences: The staff was very friendly and the hotel compound is very nice. And, the apartment was quite big. We understand that Dili is still rather underdeveloped with hotels, but the price charged for the old rooms was very high. But then no other choice for a two-bedroom apartment. We still had a good stay.

If you value peace of mind in the months and weeks before your trip, this isn't the hotel for you. They'll cancel your reservation and not bother telling you. I'm travelling to Dili with my family in June 2024 and booked with Malinamoc in January. We received email confirmation of our booking for two rooms. So, two weeks before departure, I send an email to confirm our booking. They sat on that email for 3-4 days before responding that our room was taken, and that they'd need to cancel our booking. No recommendations for alternate accommodation, no indication that they actually recognise the inconvenience. I wonder - had I not asked, would we have just arrived next Saturday and been turned away? Amateurish is an understatement. So here I am, 8 days out from our arrival and scrambling to find alternate accommodation for my wife and three children in Dili (which is not easy). Be extremely careful booking with these people. They'll double book the room you reserve 5 months in advance, and not bother to tell you.

I can't praise Malinamoc high enough. We stayed here for more than 5 months, while my wife worked / volunteered at nearby Maluk Timor. Given the obstacles to hotel facility management and service delivery in this beautiful country, relatively, I think this is the best managed hotel I have ever experienced in my 35 years of travelling. Beautiful tropical gardens, lovely pool, nice apartments (well furnished, quality furnishings, nice standard throughout, good layout, light, everything working, impeccably cleaned) and wonderful friendly happy hard-working staff. It's a luxury to have 24/7 air-con and power all sorted for you, backup generator, internet (subject to country limitations), water barrels changed regularly, gas and a maid to do your laundry and service your apartment seven days a week, breakfast buffet and eggs cooked to your liking, 24/7 security. No request was too great - the highly experienced owner / manager Alvaro is happy to accommodate anything you need. It is close by the airport and not too difficult to wave down a taxi into town (which are cheap) or you can walk to the local shops, or you can even catch a mikrolet (local mini bus) if you're inclined, which go everywhere. The local neighborhood is very friendly and enjoyable to walk around. I can't recommend the place highly enough. It was a wonderful oasis and I think it is the best place to stay in all of Dili, especially if you have your own vehicle (I researched them all before we arrived and inspected many after we arrived).
