The Maji Beach Boutique Hotel

An absolute top boutique hotel. Right on the beach. I just LOVED This place. An old stately family home converted to a small cozy hotel (with less than 20 rooms in total, I understood), this is absolutely ideal if all you want is to relax, be treated like royalty and eat amazing food; watch the ocean and just basically recharging your batteries. The staff were out-of-this-world-superb! Never been treated like this in a hotel before. They made you feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The rooms are enormous. I had a room with ocean view and a balcony. I believe most rooms come with one. Nicely stocked room; kettle and refrigerator. Water is provided in the room. Bottom line: A dream of a hotel! Do come. You will not regret it.

Beautiful hotel. Most chilled hotels i have ever been to. Rooms and premises are very well looked after. Beautiful pool (open 24hr with jacoozi and swim up bar area), garden and beach (soft sand turquoise waters, you get the picture) . The hotel doesn't have too many rooms being a boutique meaning the staff can offer each guest exceptional service. And they did from being very welcoming from 1st moment, remembering names, previous orders/preferneces, accommodating any requests, sense of humour and being very polite. I won't mention names as I found everyone to be amazing. Slight word of warning is there is a lot of outside traders walking along beach which I suppose is public and you can get a bit of hassle to buy stuff. But didn't bother me too much. Food. Simply amazing. We were half board. Breakfast was exceptional with various options. I always started day with coconut and passionfruits. But plenty of options for pasties eggs bacon omelette yogurts etc. Fresh juices as well Evening meal was always a dilemma as I wanted to try everything. Dinner is 3 course which you choose in advance. We only stayed 4 nights and I wish I had more nights to try the food. It was very brilliant every night. Never saw the chef but it was excellent and top quality. You are allowed to request to eat dinner anywhere on the premises i believe. We didn't try this as the normal spot by the pool is a very beautiful location. Found prices of drinks and snacks to be very reasonable within the resort. Again all 24 hour. Wife had massage which she enjoyed. I drank beer in the sun. Sunbeds are very comfy. One of my favourite parts of day was watching sunrise from the 4 poster double sundowners with cappuccino which by day 2 was brought to me before I even requested it. Rooms were made up twice a day. Frsh towels and water. Shower could have been stronger mind you... Overall it will be difficult to go to another resort now anywhere. Maji Boutique was a beautiful and relaxing break that we needed and exceeded our expectation.

We enjoyed a first class stay .. couldn’t fault it .. beautiful setting, exceptional service (friendly without being too much, professional, thoughtful, a great team) .. the food was the best I had had in Kenya with the chef catering for my mother’s strict dietary requirements without fuss .. my room was also exceptional with a view of the beach (I would ask for this room if you come) .. wonderful sun loungers within the security of the Maji’s grounds .. I felt very safe, welcome and well-looked after here .. thank you Maji xxxx

The best boutique hotel in Kenya. Best value for money. You feel like an honorable VIP. the staff are amazing and you get a special treatment from the day you arrive to day you leave. The location is 5 min from the airstrip. The food is a gourmet food. And the beach is touching the hotel.

Great hotel with amazing staff, quiet and peaceful we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the beach and hotel. We spent 3 nights here before heading off on safari and we loved it. The friendly staff were so helpful and welcoming and the rooms were tasteful and very comfortable. A lovely experience and hope to visit again one day.

Can’t believe It’s been 11 years since Maji opened. It is my cocoon where all the year’s grind melts away. It has some of my most precious memories with family & friends. The team have become dear friends. Looking forward to the next 11! Bravo!
