Midrange hotel in the city center, close to Metro Secretariat. Many sights are within walking distance, making it a great choice location-wise. They offer dependable airport transfers for USD 20 using the hotel’s van (they did not offer this, but you may want to ask them to use the expressway – toll for a car was 80 Taka as of the time of writing this review – maybe the van costs more and that’s why they were not using it?). Reception is on 11th floor, with rooms both above and below. My “Superior Twin Room” ended up being on the 5th floor (unsure what room category the higher-level floors are). Service is professional and courteous. Area around the hotel is OKish with some shops nearby, but I’m not sure how safe it is after dark (the hotel was pretty much locked down during the night and early mornings). The hotel offers decent value for money, but shows its age. Some floors look like perennial construction sites. Overall certainly an OK choice to spend a couple of nights, but for my personal tastes I found it a bit “too basic”. – I ended up upgrading myself to a higher standard for my follow up stay in the city a few days later.
