This beautiful bed and breakfast is an excellent accommodation option, even after more than a decade after I first started staying here in 2011. I stayed here for two nights in July 2023 on my way back to New Zealand, after a month in Indonesia. I was in Malaysia for too brief a time to go somewhere like Penang, but it was too long a time to spend it all at an airport hotel. Rumah Putih was the perfect place to stay in between these two options. A short 15 minute drive from the airport, Rumah Putih has spacious clean rooms, a small but refreshing pool, comfortable shared living and dining room areas, and a tasty breakfast each morning. Get a Grab, Air Asia ride share or official taxi from the airport. Don't jump in a metered taxi, as there is a high chance you'll be overcharged. Get a vochure from the taxi ticketing area for a set price, or use one of the ride sharing apps. The latter are a bit difficult to download and register for before arrival in Malaysia, so a taxi might be the best option on arrival. The local area near Rumah Putih has become very busy with cars, often driving at speed and traffic since I first started staying here in 2011. Whereas it was then just an easy stroll to the local shops, where there are a number of excellent eating options, it has now become extremely congested. There is no direct or easy pedestrian access and you have to cross busy roads to get to the local shops. But once you do, you're rewarded with amazing dining options, and the food is incredible. Rumah Putih is well recommended for a few days in KL.
