Sunbright Inn

The Sunbright Inn is a delightful historic home that has been converted to an Inn. Soaring main floor ceilings, period furniture and well appointed rooms make this beautifully renovated inn very tempting. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is not a soul to be seen on the property. The grounds are meticulously groomed without a blade of grass out of place. These factors combined make for an unsettling experience. It’s creepy AF. Keypads on every door that lock automatically upon closing. Yes, you can text with a supposed person, but ***? You could actually use this for a movie script (I’m thinking along the lines of “Get Out.”) The heavily carved four-posted bed was so high there was no way I could get on it without the step stool, unless I was a pole vaulter. The mattress topper is so spongy it swallowed me up like a Venus flytrap, but the pillows are dense with foam that my body was sinking while my head was perched high on the pillow. I had the worst night sleep ever. If you need a mattress topper, you should be replacing the mattress. The one thing people want when staying anywhere is a good sleep with a decent mattress. The Sunbright Inn is not shy with their rates and I would expect a reasonably comfortable mattress. Aside from the mattress debacle, there is considerable street noise so best bring earplugs and white noise. Best of luck.

A meticulously renovated Victorian home with extraordinary attention to detail in public spaces, grounds, and the room. Super linens and a very thoughtful host (who we never met) but was very communicative via text. Yummy fresh muffins awaited us with every convenience one could imagine - ready on site. Large spacious & handsome bathroom with giant shower & AMAZING water pressure. Nice secure parking and a good location within easy walking distance to the historic district. I take pleasure in recommending this inn. HINT - if you find the bed too mushy, you are able to remove the topper for a more firm nights sleep.

We had a wonderful stay at Sunbright Inn! 🥰 Everything was beautiful...the room, the house with all its attention to detail...was simply amazing!! Your inn is so quaint, like stepping back into the Victorian era, so charming and full of history....while providing us all the 21st century amenities...including the electric car charger!!! we especially enjoyed the living room – perfect for reminiscing about our day's adventures. It truly felt special, a gorgeous escape from the everyday hustle. We can't wait to return to Sunbright Inn for another relaxing getaway! ❤️..we would give it an 11 if we could!!❤️

The Inn was stunning! We felt like we took a step back in time as we entered the foyer. The public areas and our room were immaculate and furnished in beautiful period pieces. Our bathroom was updated, large, with an amazing shower. The quality of the linens exceeded our expectation and the bed was very comfortable. The Innkeeper communicated well with us prior to our visit and checked for any special requests. I asked for a small fan and voila-a very cute vintage fan awaited me and was perfect. We stayed in the Magnolia room on the first floor. Coffee was available and a muffin awaited to start our morning. My only suggestions, communicated to the Innkeeper after we left, was a need for a hand towel holder, extra soap for the shower, and an additional luggage rack as there is no closet in this room. We will return and hope to explore the town more. Note: if you arrive on a Sunday, some of the recommended restaurants are not open.

The best experience ever!!!! You truly feel like you have stepped back in time. Each room is exquisitely done and absolutely. Extremely clean and the attention to detail is amazing. The family that runs it are truly the nicest people. I would highly recommend everyone stay there at least once. We have stayed there twice and we will be back!!!

Sunbright Inn is a special experience. The beautiful rooms are decorated with period antiques. The attention to detail is impressive. Every room is unique and every need is met to make your visit comfortable. For special occasions upgrades can be added. This is a jewel in west Florida. The historic downtown of Defuniak Springs is worth a look. We love it there!
