Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean. Food good. Area that the hotel is in is very nice. Restaurants and a few shops walkable. Bed was comfortable. Parking very easy and close. Room includes hair dryer, plenty of towels and wash cloths, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in addition to hand soap all in convenient dispensers. We had a small refrigerator and micro wave.

I got this hotel for a last minute trip to Atl. It's close to both Emory University Hospital and Emory Decatur and it's clinics, so it fit my needs very well. The hotel is located near the Northgate Mall and features many good place to eat in a relatively comfortable part of town. The staff was great! From the desk clerks to the maids and the breakfast staff, they were all very friendly and helpful to this traveler! My room was neat and clean, above average in every way.

When I first arrived i was practically ignored by guy on reception. I got no water or info about wifi or breakfast. When i arrived in room TV didn’t work after half our a maintenance man came up and said he couldn’t really fix properly as the guy who registers the tv box only works Monday to Friday. This was Sunday. The room whilst large was cold and empty and could do with some extra furniture and rugs. Its the most expensive room with large windows but you are overlooked by office block and the large bright Hampton inn sign shines into the room. There were a couple of pillows on the bed which stank of stale sweat. On the second night the tv was still not working properly kept switching to no signal. The box issue was still not fixed. This time a maintenance guy came up who had a real passive aggressive attitude. He made no real effort to fix as he said he didn’t know about tvs. His attitude made me feel very uncomfortable. I was meant to be here nearly two weeks but because of the above i checked out on day 3. Should also note hot food at breakfast was lukewarm. Bread is wrapped in plastic you have plastic cutlery. Not eco friendly. Bacon is burnt to a crisp and its paper plates and cups

Have stayed at this Hampton Inn & Suites several times when visiting relatives or checking up on kids in college in Atlanta. It is a beautiful location, in the heart of Decatur, which is very walkable with restaurants and small shops. If you have a car, you will have to pay for parking in the parking garage next door, but it is well lit and has a gated entry. We have not had a problem finding a parking space, even after 11pm. If you park on the top floor, and get a room on that side of the hotel, you may be able to see your car from your room. The rooms are clean and nicely arranged. Everything has worked when we stayed there (heater or air conditioning, refrigerator, shower, sink, etc.) Staff are friendly, but not the go-out-of-their-way-to-help friendly, which is fine. Breakfast is standard fare, waffles, a few hot dishes, cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries. Well stocked. Kitchen staff are friendly and quickly replenish the items. Two reasons for 4 stars (4.5) instead of 5. First, the price is high in my opinion. I stay at Hilton properties often for business, and this Hampton has maybe a 25-50% larger price than I would expect. They don't seem to be near capacity, since I've never seen a crowded breakfast there. Second, in most Hamptons, you can use the restaurant tables and chairs when they are not serving breakfast, to visit with friends or have a coffee. Here they rope off the area (at exactly the time that breakfast ends), so the space is off limits all day. You only have the option to sit at the bar or sit in front of the checkout desk. (The rooms are too small to provide a sitting area.)
