Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection

Grandparents wanted to stay here because of the hotel's rich history. When we came to pick them up from the hotel, an older gentleman, very sharply dressed, greeted us and welcomed us. My two cousins went inside to get my family members. This man is called "J". He spent time talking with my cousins. The next thing I see is him tying their ties for them. They were wearing new suits, and "J" even helped open the pockets on the suit jacket and assisted them in placing the pocket square inside their suit jackets. I could not believe the time and patience he took with both of these young men to help them. I have stayed at many hotels all over the world, and I have never seen such kindness toward guests of any hotel. This man must be a manager to be able to spend so much time assisting any guest who enters. My grandparents told me that he always opens the door for people coming in and out. I know why this place is an Autograph hotel because of the personal touch that Mr J provides. I want to thank him and the staff of the Dearborn Inn for taking care of my grandparents. I now know why they want to stay here whenever we are in Michigan. Phenomenal job and well done!

I rarely write reviews but I was so surprised and happy when Michael Haner of the Dearborn Inn took the time to compliment and thank us for being such loyal and good customers of the Marriott Bonvoy Program. What an impressive young man and what a great ambassador he is for the hotel and the company.. I truly hope you will share this with him. The hotel was its usual great experience and the room and food was to totally excellent!!. Thank you again Michael for making our day and reminding us about why we are Bonvoy members and property owners!

Our stay at the Dearborn Inn was exquisite. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was more than ample and came with a large walk-in shower. Breakfast was tasty; the service excellent. Michael, who we encountered at the front desk, was very, very, helpful. He recommended restaurants, shared interesting information about the hotel, and was a delightful person. Hannah also provided excellent service. I would stay at the Dearborn Inn again.

Similar to the below posters, the hard property is phenomenal and I would stay here vs the Henry for the reason but for the service. Like the below posters, I pointed out that the front desk agent was wrong and that Titanium elites should be entitled to breakfast per the terms and conditions. I then watched the woman throw out the sleeve with my original room assignment written on it, find what feels like the worst room in the property, and change my room assignment after having made a key initially for a different room. While this is supposition it's a pretty crummy feeling to feel attacked for pointing out something was in violation of T&C in a calm tone and without an ask for redress. That, objectively looking at the fire map on the back.of the door, I was put into what is one of the smallest rooms and to have not even had the agent acknowledge being unable to provide an upgrade for an 11pm check in just leave a bad taste.

Visited the Dearborn to visit their bar / restaurant. I wasn’t a paying staying guest when we did but instead was staying down the street in another Marriott as the Inn was sold out due to Detroit techno event and other events at Memorial Day weekend. Bartender Greg looked after us that night and his service was superb. Next day, the local Marriott that we did stay at refused to hold our luggage after our check out as we had to run errands. So I called the Inn and explained the situation and that I’m a Platinum member and the Inn was able to accommodate holding our luggage just for a few hours before we flew out of town. That’s what I call the exceptional service that Marriott is known for at the best locations. Thank you Dearborn Inn for going above and beyond and especially when we recognize you didn’t have too. You’re a class act and we won’t fail to stay with you next time we are in Dearborn. Your decision to help us made all the difference. Most of all, thank you.

After being closed since the pandemic the Dearborn Inn has finally reopened. While still a Marriott hotel, the brand was changed from Marriott's flagship to its more boutique Autograph Collection brand. For the most part, everything was done very well. The rooms are worthy of the property whereas they were just awful before the hotel closed. The location is obviously the main draw if you're visiting Greenfield Village. But the location is also decent for anyone doing business in the western Detroit suburbs. It's also not that far from Detroit Metro Airport ... if you have a car. It's certainly much nicer than any of the airport hotels (with the exception of the in-terminal Westin). My only issue is parts of the decor. I thought the lobby's interior design could have been more classic and more upscale. I thought they made compromises in the decor. I expected ​decor more like colonial revival or English country house. Likewise, I thought some elements of the in-room decor (the carpet, the wall art, the furnishings) didn't complement the exterior architecture. Again, I think many people at an Autograph Collection property in a historic revival architectural building would expect a little more classic decor. I think the overall decor was a little too contemporary. All that aside, the quality of the furnishings, etc. is nice. Most of the amenities you expect are provided. A minor complaint: No print newspapers, not even the Sunday Detroit Free Press. Also I had to ask for a robe because none were provided. The biggest issue I experienced? The hotel cheats elites. By virtue of my elite status with Marriott Bonvoy I was entitled to complimentary breakfast in the restaurant. The Front Desk claimed they were exempt and didn't have to provide this guaranteed benefit. Why is this hotel cheating elites out of eggs and coffee? They want Marriott customers but don't want to give Marriott benefits. That's completely unacceptable. All things considered, I would recommend the hotel IF Marriott benefits aren't important to you. But I wouldn't personally return unless and until the hotel provides what is required and expected of them as a Marriott Autograph Collection property.
