Hotel Astoria

Astoria delivers on its promises. Friendly staff, multilingual, and great family room. We booked a 3 bedroom layout that allowed for our 3 kids to have the privacy and space they, and we as parents, needed. Great location, just minutes walking to the beach ⛱️ 👌

Very welcoming staff, great that you can have a drink in the bar after a long walk on the beach (which is very close by). Breakfast is 10/10, a lot of choice and fresh products. Great value for money - would definitely recommend. Instant holiday feeling!

I stayed at Hotel Astoria with my family in August 2022. This is one of the priciest hotels in De Haan which itself is an expensive city. To start with the hotel does not have a step-free entrance, quite shocking in this day and age so if you are travelling with lots of luggage, have a family with a push-chair (like us) or a wheel-chair user rule out staying here straight away. There are about ten high steps to access the hotel, staff offer no help instead they actually look at you like you are a nuisance. At arrival, the check-in staff tried to charge us for the extra bed in the room without bothering to see the booking so be careful if travelling with a family. We were told we can have a complimentary drink from their bar. When trying to claim this offer the staff makes you feel like you are a freeloader, pure rude behaviour followed by a list of drinks that the offer doesn't cover. Basically you can only have a beer or a soft drink. They say they have parking on premises but it's actually just free off-street parking. On the day of our departure there was a fare in the city center so we had to park our car 2miles away. The staff prefers business from walk-in customers in bar and restaurant over hotel guests. Attitude towards children was specially cold and distant, again making us feel like we are causing them extra work.

This hotel is authentic and modern. Comfortable and childfriendly rooms. Breakfast is wonderfull. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Astoria is in the center of this little beach village. Few minutes walk to the beach, shops, restaurants.

Die stilvolle Fassade täuscht über eine ganze Reihe Detailmängel hinweg : In keinem Zimmer gibt es eine Klimaanlage oder einen Kühlschrank. Auch ein Kleiderschrank fehlte in unserem Zimmer, nur eine offene Kleiderstange an einer Seite. Im Bad gibt es eine Badewanne, aber keinen Haben, um die Brause für Duschende an der Hand aufzuhängen. Zum Duschen muss man die Brause also ständig in der Hand halten. Da dann auch noch ein Duschvorhang oder schöner eine Glasscheibe fehlt, wird dann das ganze Badezimmer nass. Der Brauseschlauch ist auch zu kurz, so dass man zum Duschen der Haare sich ständig bücken muss. Unskomplett unverständlich, wie man solche Kleinigkeiten nicht gästefreundlicher lösen kann. Das Frühstück ist reuchlich und gut, das Personal ist freundlich. Sonst hätte es zu 3 Sternen nicht gereicht. Hinter dem Haus (auf der Steasse um 2 Ecken) gibt es 2 Euro 2-Ladestationen, die meine Shell-Karte akzepierten und den Tesla luden.

Heerlijk ontbijt met heel vriendelijke bediening in een stijlvolle atmosfeer! Hebben hier niet overnacht maar hoorden van andere gasten dat het fantastisch was. Mooi terras buiten ook met leuke drankjes tegen schappelijke prijzen...
