Very nice hotel room

I stayed with a friend in this hotel for 3 nights. The room was not very clean but there were food remnants found that were not ours. The patio was a nice area but not much of a view. Was hoping to check out the rooftop area but it was closed unfortunately. The coffee machine in the room was dirty with a used filter in it. The bathroom was not very clean and had hair all in the shower and around the sink. The toilet clogged and there was no plunger in the room, we let the front desk know as we went out for the day and they resolved the issue. We did experience a bug bite of some sort which is alarming, especially in winter. Very expensive at $600 for having these types of issues with the cleanliness. I try to always stay with Marriot but will not be back to this one. Not a great stay for my first time in the province unfortunately. More than two coffees were not provided and had to be purchased from their Bistro daily.

We like to stay at Courtyard Dartmouth now for our visits to Hfx/Dartmouth. It's right smack in the heart of the Crossing with everything you'd need for food and shopping and entertainment easily at walking distance, but we still drive lot to lot. Easy, free parking. Next door to the Keg for a great steak. Room is quiet and clean. Even in a massive windstorm, it was quiet and peaceful inside. Beds are good. Shower is good. No complaints. One issue: DO NOT get the breakfast. We made that mistake. It's lacklustre and 3x the price for the value. With handily the worst service I've received in a "restaurant". We did it the first time. And our next stay (other end of the trip), we went to McDonalds in the same lot for cheaper and better. We use this as our "airport" hotel. It's 15 mins to the airport in our rental car. There is NOT a shuttle. But it's close and better than the airport hotels actually at the airport.

Nice clean hotel with comfortable beds. Staff are friendly. A few things could be improved. For one, the parking lot! It’s like they tried to accommodate an adequate number of spaces with a small budget. Even small cars and SUVs are a tight squeeze. As a result, many guests with larger vehicles simply opted to take up 2 spaces just to be able to open their doors. Could use a re-design there. Also, a small thing but irritating is the lack of hooks to hang things up on like coats, wet towels and swimsuits. There was one single hook in the bathroom. Lastly, the Bistro area seems understaffed. There was only one server to take food orders and man the coffee take out counter so it was a long wait for food, and the food was just average.

Check in and single king room was great. This is a fairly new hotel and very close to IKEA. Went for breakfast and took 1/2 hour to get our food. Toast and bagel was brought out 20 minutes before rest of food. I ordered French toast which was supposed to come with maple syrup. Clearly this hotel does not understand you can actually serve real pure maple syrup when you print maple syrup on your menu! It was standard breakfast syrup. What a let down after such a long wait. As a tip to hotel… why not allow courtyard customers to take part in your residence inn buffet breakfast, even if you had to charge $10 for it?

My husband booked me this trip as a Mother’s Day surprise, since we have two small children at home. It was a nice solo night away for me. He made all the arrangements, double checked with management the day before that everything was arranged and taken care of so I wouldn’t have to worry about anything. Check in was a literal night mare. The person helping me was so dismissive. At first gave me a hard time because my last name is not the same as my husbands. It’s 2023… I was at the front desk for 43 minutes. 5 people were checked in beside me while I was there. The worker checking them in offered every single person a free breakfast. A couple of them even said “breakfast isn’t included in my stay” in which she replied “I know, it’s just to help you enjoy your stay with us” I was offered nothing. After finally getting my room key I asked if I could would be getting breakfast and he replied “no”. I left a message for management who was in at 8am since there was none there when I checked in and nobody called me back. I never received an apology. Upon checkout same thing. The hotel is nice and the rooms are good. However being made to feel welcome when your paying upwards of $300 for a standard room and being treated decently is literally BARE MINIMUM. Your options in the area are endless so do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. Pathetic excuse for hospitality.

We love this hotel and highly recommend it. Amazing service, friendly staff, modern rooms and great amenities. Walking distance from great shops and restaurants. Can’t wait to go back. We have booked again for the summer.

One of best Courtyard's in North America, as the hotel feels and looks new. Checkin was very quick and friendly. Treated this Bonvoy Titanium member very well. Room was spotless and a good size (2 queen beds) with very large HD TV. Excellent wifi speed. Bed was super comfortable and I got a goodnight sleep. Everything was in working order and I appreciated the hotel doing its part for the environment with eco-friendly refill toiletries in the bathroom. The only sit-down food and beverage option is Bistro. It's very limited in offerings and expensive ($6 for a bagel with cream cheese). You are better off going to Tim Horton's or one of the many other places just across the street including McDonald's, The Keg, Montana's, Jack Astor, Thai Express and Quiznos to name a few. Location is under 20 minutes from the airport which is super convenient. I would definitely return.

Hotel was more expensive than other are hotels in the area but very basic. The phone reservation people do not have the facts about the hotel and need training. No included breakfast, no in room bottled water. At check out I was given another person bill. Would not stay here again. As I said there are cheaper hotels that are better.
