Just realised nobody has posted up a review of this place since 2017! It's now 2024!!! Rio127 Guesthouse has since been renovated with a handful of guest rooms only on the 3rd? floor when I stayed. The 2nd floor was temporarily a shared space, but it looked like extra space for the cafe/office meeting space/whatever the owner has in the works that he hasn't quite figured out what to do with it yet. Eitherway the 2nd floor is quite nice and relaxing and now opens right up with an awesome view of the river. The rooms are still super basic and some would complain small, dated, with limited amenitities for storage. There were no table nor chairs in the room (probably wouldn't fit well) and the tiniest open wardrobe fits hardly anything. The cafe doesn't open till midday as expected in a lot of smaller towns but at least the owner seems to be responsive online so any problems (unless early in the morning) he will probably get around to it within 30-60minutes I found. Most of the rooms now face the river and it's an awesome view. The guesthouse is literally riverfront across from the small street. But after all this is a guesthouse not a hotel so don't expect luxuries. Very stuitable for those happy with 3star type accomodation and especially if the rate for your stay is within your budget and reasonable to altneratives you'll probably be very satisfied. Being an older property you do hear your neighbours, especially more when when everyone has their windows open (flyscreen included), although aircon was included in the price. What the guesthouse lacks it makes up for in secure parking space, CCTV, a slightly bigger than expected bathroom compared to other guesthouses, very caring english owner who speaks pretty fluent english and easy to converse. He was very helpful and offered a lot of advice on what to see and do. I found it super comfortable for the 50-80,000 KRW that I paid for at the time. Danyang is a tiny town in my opinion and the place is fairly close to the central markets and bus terminal. I found the room and bedding very clean and comfortable, good hot water pressure but be careful with the sink if you put too much water pressure the piping can have some issues. It's a quieter option away from the main street. If you're comfortable with the idea of a guesthouse (with it's own basic rules like shoes and taking out the rubbish which is pretty common in Korea) then I'd highly recommend the place!
