The Brantwood Hotel

Celebrated my husbands 70 th birthday at the Brantwood with a meal for 42 friends, could not fault the food and service. Richard and his staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble, everyone was very impressed. Some guests stayed and said rooms and breakfast were first class. Thank you again.

Stayed for 1 night whilst travelling to scotland. Beautiful setting of the hotel Staff very pleasant and polite. Was shown to room 5 . Room cosy,toilet a bit of a squeeze,window opened onto a flat roof,so couldn't be left open,as any birds,insects can get into the room. Maybe mesh could be put up? Evening meal was very good. Service good presentation lovely and the food itself was excellent. Very impressed. Shower in the morning was fun as the water pressure was lost and the shower stopped whilst shampoo was still in my hair. Not a happy customer! Did inform staff at breakfast and the lad at breakfast said that they were aware of this issue happening and it was an old building hence the issue. Breakfast good

We recently stayed for 4 nights in room 2. We decided to eat in the restaurant on the first evening as we had driven a long way that day, but had tables booked at other pubs for the remaining 3 nights. After experiencing the first night with tablecloths on the table, water provided, the most wonderful food, and extremely attentive staff we decided to cancel the other pubs and ate in the restaurant every night. We were not disappointed. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom and shower. The breakfast was also good, and the prices in the restaurant were very reasonable. The hotel is full of character with a lovely little bar area, and Richard the owner is to be congratulated on running such a wonderful place. We will certainly be back next year.

We hired Brantwood Hotel Stainton for our wedding celebration, as we live locally and have always loved this hotel. From start to finish, it was absolutely amazing! Richard and his team were fantastic, and everything went smoothly. All the guests commented on how professional everyone was. We had the whole hotel to ourselves and it be a day that I'll never forget. From the amazing food , fizz canapés in the grounds. Everything is so clean, including all comfy rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant was very tasty and well priced. This hotel is like a traditional B&B, full of character and English charm.

Decent hotel with a small number of rooms close to the M6 but without hearing it. Excellent main courses all with copious vegetables - the steak pie in particular - and acceptable starters although we found it wasn’t really necessary given the size of the mains! Decent breakfast and good rooms

Had lunch here today, our second visit. Very good enjoyable food for a reasonable price provided by friendly welcoming staff. Will be the "go to" meal stop on future trips from Northumberland to the Lakes. Thank you Brantwood, the "proper pie" was great!

We stayed one night here on our C2C bike ride. Our group got in late but they held the kitchen open for us and we had a fine meal. The staff was very friendly and saw to our needs in every respect. They allowed us to store our bikes in a locked room. Our actual room was small but comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was outstanding.

The staff were excellent, and the local regulars are so welcoming and chatty. I stayed a night with my mum on the way to Edinburgh and we have both said we would definitley stay again. Its so cozy, the rooms are comfortable and so toasty! The drinks were nice and cold, and THE FOOD?! DELICIOUS! We had both said out of our entire trip this was by far some of the best food we had! We will definitely plan to return soon
