This is a classic if extreme example of what we found to be a common pattern of deception amongst various Vietnamese accommodation providers. From the pictures online it would appear the building has a rooftop pool, and is flanked by palm trees. The rooms were indeed freshly renovated, although to a rather 'handyman' standard and the bed was comfortable. The staff were also very friendly, helpful and later on, apologetic and happy to refund us for the next three nights we had booked, which is why they get a rating of 2 and not 1. The pool was unfinished, clearly the photos were of their sister hotel. There was a connecting building mid way through construction, not just next door, but immediately adjoining the wall our room was on. After a long day of travelling we woke up to pneumatic drilling literally behind our heads, making the room shake. We initially decided to make the best of it and got up to have a shower to find no hot water. After 5 minutes under a cold shower I decided to tell them that we were checking out. This happened in some way or other at all but one of our 5 accomodations in 2 weeks in Vietnam, ranging from "4 star" hotels to hostels. If you smell a rat from some of the reviews, trust your instinct and keep sifting through them.
