The White Horse Crostwick

Went for Father’s Day meal. What an absolute waste of money. We had the Sunday roast, it was the worst roast we have ever had. The meat was overcooked and tuff, the potatoes did not taste like roast potatoes, they tasted like frozen roasties that were heated up in a fryer, the peas were over cooked, and the gravy was like a congealed lump in the jug. The plastic flowers on the table were covered in dust, disgusting!! Do not waste your money here, we will not be going again!

A lovely setting, and nice staff, but the cod was awful, a small frozen piece of fish, which had no taste, and was rubbery, just cheap ingredients. So disappointing. How I wish I had gone to the recruiting sergeant, where the fish is simple delicious.

What a terrible experience. The food, by far, is the worst we've had in a very long time. Cheap ingredients poorly cooked. Most of the staff were lovely, however one member of staff came across rude. Salt and pepper came out of sachets like a Wetherspoons. Mouldy fake flowers which we removed from the table. The drinks were the only thing worth paying for. These were brought to us being carried by the rims of the glass though. Not very hygienic. Expected far better based on other reviews. Far better quality pubs available within a 5 minute drive.

Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Nice and warm when you walk in. Cosy, comfy pub. Had a really great lunch here, sea bass was delicious and the service was so warm and friendly. Very dog friendly too. Brought biscuits over for our dog. Will be back as soon as possible.

A very warm welcome from staff. We have visited many times before. The restaurant was full, but thankfully a table was allocated to us. The roast pork was amazing, home cooked. We spent 3 hours chatting with other guests. The land lady and daughter are so friendly and welcoming. Our place to go!

Having visited and had nice meals in the past the meal today was terrible. Fish and chips should be an easy meal to get right but this was a disaster. The batter was so hard I could not penetrate it and the chips were not crisp and did not taste right. The whole meal appeared to have been fried once before and the put back in the deep fryer. The fish inside was like white mush. The waitress apologized but no sign of the manager taking any interest or apologizing for this meal. I will certainly not return again and recommend the place as I have done in the past.
