The Crooked Swan

Had the most wonderful Sunday roast here yesterday. My friend and i had a sharing platter of beef and chicken, both meats cooked to perfection. Vegetables, tatties and yorkshire pudding all spot on. We shared a dessert as we were both quite full. Most definitely will return and try the rest if the menu

This hotel has lovely service and the rooms have been refurbished beautifully with great styling and period features. Nice pub, good beers on tap and friendly staff. However when we went it was a hot July and the room had no air conditioning or fan so we had to open the window for ventilation, the traffic noise from the A30 that passes through Crewkerne is insane and carrys on till late into the evening, once it finally stopped we were treated to a 20min long high volume argument & fight outside the window at 2am until the police turned up to deal with the individuals! To say we had a poor nights sleep would be an understatement! They really need to install secondary glazing of some sort and air conditioning especially for the rooms at the front of the building that face the main road. My children had a better night - still hot but their room was at the rear of the hotel. Breakfast is included which is ideal but not served till 8.30am earliest which we felt was rather late and we had to leave in the mornings by 8am so we didn't get to experience it at all. Maybe they are only catering for the very leisurely tourist! There is no parking and you have to leave your car in a public car park. Pillows not soft at all, very hard. Sadly it was a real disappointment from what we had hoped and we wouldn't stay there again.

Room was fabulous, huge bed, gorgeous bathroom, styled really differently. Food delicious & different with some delicious twists on classics. Staff lovely & attentive & helpful with where to park. Courtyard perfect for a sunny afternoon/evening

Had a Wonderful impromptu one night stay here to try and avoid the Easter Weekend chaos on the roads. I called on the day and secured with name and telephone number. Our room was Beautiful with a comfortable bed and large bathroom with a double shower. We had breakfast and dinner in the pub and both were super. Road noise would definitely bother some but wouldn't put us off staying again. We slept all night and wasn't woken. Maybe some curtains on the front windows would help drown out the noise? Thank You to Ben for the upgrade. We're glad we decided to start our weekend early. (we parked out the front and were lucky to get a space)

Disappointing. The crooked Swan food has deteriorated since we were there in September 2024. Painfully thin steak with very skinny chips accompanied by watercress. We asked for some veg or a salad and were given more watercress with 2 shavings of parmesan. Great for rabbits

Honest British Reviewer Easy check in, great apartment, great hosts, we ate in the restaurant here and it was expensive but worth the money for sure. I’d come back here again for sure and wouldn’t have any issue putting visiting family/friends up here. Great all round experience.
