We called a week ahead of time and asked if they could meet our accommodations and was told they have everything ready. We requested a site for our dogs specifically to play and swim in the sun. After checking in, we drove to our spot, then drove back to the office. A 10x15 gravel section with NOTHING but gravel and a firepit, next to NON-Swimable full bloom algae water, is where we were assigned. Half of our trailer and vehicle were to be nosed out into the gravel parking lot like at a tail gate party. They asked if we would like to move as the worker agreed that site was horrible. Unfortunately 99% of their other sites are all under thick dark dense wooded area, all sites we specifically asked to avoid before making the reservation. The gravel parking lot sites are the ONLY sunny sites available. How these are $96 a night sites beats me. Homeless camps in our area are nicer than these dirt holes they call sites, and they at least have grass. The online presence of this campground is fraudulent compared to the reality of Shelter Cove.
