The Durham Ox

5 Star, Excellent. Heard all about the Durham Ox but never been. We have one person working for us and took him and his wife out for Sunday luncheon. Yummy, great staff, nice tables. Good service and staff were lovely. Nicely spaced tables too and definitely not rushed.

Our second visit recently and what a great find. Really comfortable rooms and superb food and friendly, prompt service with great atmosphere. The specials menu combine well with some of the classic choices on the a la carte ( appropriately beef dominated!) menu and we really enjoyed dinner on both occasions we stayed. Selection of wines were excellent with a very good house claret by the glass. 10/10.

First time staying onsite at The Durham Ox, having eaten here a few times. We stayed in the Pool Cabin which was just wow!!! Insane size pool/hot tub with gorgeous views! So homely inside the cabin, very comfortable bed. Fab range of drinks and snacks available through an honesty system. Beautiful decorated and well equipped for a stress free stay! I’ll definitely be back!!!

The Rose suite felt like a gorgeous cottage with our own entrance via a terrace with outdoor seating. On entry there is a small kitchen with complimentary tea and coffee, leading to a generous living room and spacious family bathroom. The master suite has such a comfy bed where I had the best nights' sleep. Across the hallway is a twin room, so this is perfect for a family stay. We also had a dip in the Pool Cabin hot tub, with beautiful views over the North Yorkshire countryside. It was just the tonic to soothe aching muscles after the drive up. This traditional family run pub with gorgeous accommodation, outstanding food and beautiful surroundings, is a true hidden gem and well worth a visit.

Wow!!! Wat an amazing place to stay location is perfect, staff that go above and beyond and food not to be missed. We stayed in the pool cabin situated at the bottom of the grounds, a lovely little secluded hideaway. Complete with a heated pool and romantic wood lodge style seating area with a built in log burner for the cooler evenings. The impressively made up bed was by far one of the comfiest we've ever slept on. Keeping a building like that with it's multiple windows and doors clear of dust and debris must be a challenge but I can honestly say it was immaculate so well done to the housekeeping team. Bathrooms spacious with luxury in mind and added bits of good old Yorkshire charm. fresh clean robs and fluffy white towels too. Tea and coffee facilities way above your standard Nescafé and PG tips. This cabin had a coffee machine so from espresso to cappuccino you're covered After having one of the most relaxing and tasty meals in the bar we spent the rest of our evening relaxing in and around the pool watching the sun go down over the expansive views The staff, the room, the food, the atmosphere were all outstanding We WILL be back !!!

Went for a meal 19th of june 2024 ,What can I say been many times before each time it even better than the last ,.We both had Scalllops to start with we have had them before they are quite a favourite with me and my friend they are superb ,them we both had Fillet Steak served on a bed of Spinach with a large mushroom on the Spinach them the Fillet of steak so juicy and tender .dauphinise potaos and Broccoli. I had crepe suzette with grand marnier ,orange and Icecream the waiter light the grand marnier and poured it of the crepe suzette it was to die for ,my friend had cream brulee which she said was delicois .we finished of with a catte with caramel for my friend and I Had an Irish coffee it was all absolutly delightful and the atmosphere in the pub it great
