The Old Inn

Afternoon tea was a real treat. I have been here many times and love the old inn atmosphere. It was a family celebration and we really enjoyed the tasty treats on offer. We also appreciated the complimentary refills on our selected teas and coffees with our food. It wasn't busy, and we had a lovely big table in the main restaurant, very comfortable with plush cushions. In the past I've experienced big problems with parking, which is limited and honestly this has often put me off from visiting more frequently, however on this occasion we had no difficulty getting into the car park. Staff were pleasant and standard of food was very good. We had a lovely selection of savouries and sandwiches, with beautifully fresh scones and some really pretty sweet treats. All in all a perfect afternoon. I will definitely be going again.

This stay was a christmas gift from the kids and did not disappoint .. We have stayed in the Galgorm on numerous occasions and loved it, so we're eager to visit . The reception staff were welcoming friendly and so professional . Off to a great start . The treetop area is tiny but adequate .. maybe another hot tub would not go amiss as one group hogged it the whole day, which was disappointing as it was a lovely sunspot. The bar staff were efficient and very pleasant and helpful .No waiting around. I had a treatment while I was there, and it was sublime . Big shout out to Oratile. I have never in my life had a deep tissue massage like it. She was beyond excellent . I really can't compliment her enough.. Felt amazing afterwards and so relaxed, which was the aim. Cocktails expertly made and dinner was delicious . Everything from cleanliness to service was excellent. Five star review for a five star experience!!

Just back from a 2 night stay with dinner one night. We stayed in The Cottage because we were bringing our two greyhounds with us and wanted direct access to outside for their bathroom breaks, and also because the Cottage has its own private outdoor jacuzzi. We absolutely loved the Treetop Spa area. The jacuzzi pool must fit at least 50 people and the entire thing bubbles and is about 38 degrees. It looks incredible at night when its dark. So nice you can order drinks to the jacuzzi pool too. We didnt use the steam room, the sauna or the relaxation room with the loungers and the roaring open fire, but the facilities were excellent. The Cottage itself is a real vibe. Its small and cosy, and since it was built several hundred years ago, the walls are super thick and it has a vaulted ceiling with amazing wooden beams and tiny windows. I would say its dark in the Cottage, even with the lights on full.... but I think the vibe is meant to be cosy. I did think it would benefit from a LOT of additional lighting, but that may be a personal preference. The Cottage has an entrance hallway, there is a living room with a large fireplace with a gas fire, a 2 seater sofa, a dining table and circular bench chair set up around the table, a coffee machine, a small fridge filled with complimentary soft drinks and a good sized smart tv. The bedroom has a king size four poster bed and is super comfortable. The bedroom has a second tv, again a good size. There is a dressing room with a dressing table which has better lighting, and its the perfect place to dry your wet robes and swimwear and to store your luggage. The bathroom was basic but very clean and useable, and the shower had excellent shower power. The only thing about the bathroom was there was a vague smell the entire time. Not hugely offensive, but it definitely has a bit of a 'light' smell to it. The Cottage comes with its own private hot tub and we absolutely loved that. The private hot tub area has a gate that you can use to access the main jacuzzi spa area too. Robes and flipflops are provided which is nice, and they are a good size (helpful if you are a plus sized person). The food in the restaurant at night was exceptional. Everything we ate was top notch. I dined off the Vegetarian and Vegan menu and was delighted to be advised that these items are cooked separately to meat/fish dishes. The onion rings are next level incredble! My hubby loved the steak and the fish. Breakfast could be improved. The only pastries were croissants, and the range of continental items needs to be extended. The cooked menu items were ok, but the quality wasn't the same as the dinners we had. I suspect its a different chef altogether. So overall breakfast was acceptable, but could be improved for sure. So the last thing is the staff. I can honestly say the staff at check in, at breakfast, in the bar and in the restaurant were fantastic in every way. They bent over backwards to accommodat

I recently stayed at The Old Inn, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel at home right away. The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we needed for a getaway. We stayed in the Crawfordsburn room, which was absolutely beautiful and incredibly spacious. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and luxurious stay, and we loved every bit of it! One of the highlights was enjoying delicious cocktails in the spa – the perfect way to unwind! A special thank you to the lovely lady at reception who kindly offered us a complimentary late checkout, as our treatments ran over. This allowed us to fully relax and enjoy extra time in the spa without feeling rushed, which we truly appreciated. Everything about our stay was exceptional, and I can’t recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely be returning!

Are they having a laugh - mediocre service and bland food for ridiculous prices! We waited 15 minutes for the menu alone. Spicy pork cheeks were not remotely spicy and I had to send out a search party to find the 3 slices of potato on the plate. We should have been suspicious when the menu listed one of the ingredients on the charcuterie board as ‘parsley’. Absolutely zero extra touches that you’d expect for these prices and no, putting ketchup in a tiny bowl does not count. Once the food was served, we didn’t see any waiting staff again until we asked to pay the bill. Yes, its C17th history was a draw, but any number of local country pubs would win hands down when it comes to character, atmosphere and quality of food and service. Take my advice and go there instead - and use the money you save to get a round in!

I ordered a prawn starter costing £15. It was 4 prawns which did not look or even taste or look like prawns with half a lettuce. Very poor and the wheaten was dry. Not worth it at all and I would not return for food as it is overpriced and underwhelming.
