Nothing exceptional pro or con. It’s a fairly new Hampton, good parking for cars, with easy access to I-12. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Not much parking for towed trailers. Breakfast area is small, but the staff kept it tidy, so it wasn’t difficult to navigate. It’s a good location to stop for us.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn since I had an appointment in Covington at 8AM and didn't want to drive across the Causeway that early in the morning (I live on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish). The hotel was good for a one-night stay and the employees were extremely nice.

The moment I walked in the lobby, I smelled mildew. I wanted to dismiss it, but after being checked into four different rooms, they all smell of mildew. Pressing the front desk about the issue they said I was the first person to complain about it. Today. Asking another staff, I learned that it is an issue that happens every summer. Apparently it’s so moist inside that the wallpaper is peeling off. Then they tried to blame it on being in South Louisiana. Having lived in this town for five years and having stayed at other hotels in this area, I called their hand. Their only resolution was to tell me I could check into another hotel. Sadly, I did not have time to change hotels because I had a dinner reservation. My one night in Mandeville ****** this year. Thanks Hilton.

My parents booked a room for me and my boyfriend to stay for the weekend using their points, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room had a distinct smell of mold like when you stay at a hotel at the beach. I could tell that they had tried to cover the smell with room spray, but it did not work. If we had been paying for this room, I would have asked for my money back.

Using the Hilton app, we checked in and selected our room early in the day. We received a digital key that enabled us to go straight to our room. We arrived around 8:30 pm and upon entering the lobby, I held up my phone to show the digital key and we walked toward the hallway. There was a man standing near the desk who proceeded to follow us down the hallway, right to our door. As I held my phone to the door lock, I noticed him right beside us looking at us. He then said it was his room! So we went back to the desk and he entered the room with a card. The desk clerk said “someone came in earlier and his name was the same name as my husband who checked in and said he was in room 123.” He asked for two keys so his son coming later would have one and then he left. So the clerk assigned us another room and gave us keys to that man’s adjoining room (with a door between us). I wasn’t comfortable with that situation and asked for a different room. He said there was no other room available with a king sized bed so my husband said maybe we better just go find another hotel! Then suddenly he said he had another room down another hallway and changed our room cards. I was quite uncomfortable with the entire situation and wondered about identity theft through the Hilton App! Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Location was excellent for driving north as we could quickly get off/on the highway. Good restaurants nearby.

We made a four-day reservation at this hotel that had a four star rating. Because we are Hilton Honors Gold member, we received an automatic upgrade. About an hour before we arrived, we received notice that our upgraded room had been changed due to a "mechanical issue in the room." No problem except the new room was on the first floor. We don't like staying on the first floor for many reasons, so I called the hotel and was told that, because they only have three of this type of room. Ok, let us check out the room on the first floor before we confirm. When we arrived, we went to look at the room and immediately smelled an overwhelming moldy smell. I went back to the front desk and told them about the moldy smell and could we just have a regular room with a King bed. They said they only had one other, a handicap room. I said that was fine. I heard her call someone and gave our room number to that person. When we got up to our room, the housekeeping manager was coming out of our room with a bottle of something in her hand. When we entered our room, we smelled a fresh sweet smell. Awesome. We unpacked and then went out to dinner with family. When we returned later in the evening, we were greeted with.... a mold smell. We also noticed a damp rid box down by the AC unit. Because it was late, we just went to bed. In the middle of the night, my wife awoke with heavy coughing because she has a compromise breathing due to a sever case of COVID a couple of years ago. We got up early and packed up and left. Before leaving I asked to speak to the GM. She was not in but they took my number and told me she would call when she returned later that day. I asked if we could have our room cost refunded but the desk clerk could not authorize that but the GM could. I waited until 3:00 pm that afternoon with no call from the GM. IVcalled the hotel then and asked for the GM. I was told she was running some errands but the front desk manager was in. I spoke with her, explained our situation and asked if she could refund our expenses. She said she didn't have that authority either but she promised to have the GM call me. Fast forward to 5:00 pm and still no call from the GM. So I called Hilton Customer Care explained all of this to the agent there. She put me on hold for quite a while while she attempted to contact the General Manager. Whe she returned, she informed me that she spoke to the GM and that she wasn't going to refund our money, but we wouldn't be penalized for the early checkout. Stay far away from this hotel until they get there mold issues resolved.

As my sister and I unpacked for our first night, a roach crawled across the floor in the entranceway. I picked up the phone to call the front desk, and their emergency phone was disconnected. When I got home, I had been charged a damage fee for some makeup on a white towel and duvet cover. Obviously this place hasn’t ever heard of bleach…

Smelled like mildew/mold. So much moisture that Chex mix would bend and not break(see pic) towels stayed wet and clothing was damp. Bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way, toilet was dirty, possible mold on wall, mattress was painfully hard. We like Hampton Inn but not this one. Never again!

I should preface this by stating we didn’t get to stay here, but I have a comment on the management and customer service. On our way back north after enjoying warmer winter climes, we wanted to visit family in Covington. On Feb 5 I booked a 3-night stay starting Feb 13 with the front desk, after first securing assurances that I could cancel with 24 hours’ notice. Unfortunately, on Feb 11 we learned the uncle we intended to visit tested positive for COVID-19, whereupon I called the hotel, again asked what the cancellation policy was, was reassured only 24 hours’ notice was needed, and regretfully cancelled our stay. Upon arriving home I noticed my card had been charged $149.12, one nights’ stay, with the earmark “late cancellation.” When I called the front desk to request clarification and hopefully grant a refund, it was finally determined that due to Mardi Gras and high volume, 14 days’ notice of cancellation was required. I explained to the FD person what I had been told, both before I booked and when I canceled (and that my initial booking was already inside the 14-day window!) but was informed this was above their pay grade and offered to leave my name and number for the GM, Ashley Vanderhoff, to call me back. After FIVE phone calls AND a direct email, eight days later, I have yet to hear back from Ms Vanderhoff. Every time I called, I was greeted courteously, informed she was busy, in a meeting or off-site, but that she would return my call. I even understand the policy, as a HiltonHonors member and former 12-year Hilton employee; what I can’t understand is why I was misinformed (twice!), but more importantly, why Ms Vanderhoff has shirked my concerns. If someone is that busy, delegation seems appropriate, especially after the second, third, fourth or fifth messages. Is it because I didn’t get to actually stay there that my concern is unimportant? Well, since it seems I’ve now paid for a night’s stay, I feel this gives me the right to give voice to my extreme displeasure.
