The Bay Hotel

We have been coming to Coverack for over 30 years but never stayed at The Bay. We have seen it change over the years from a very old fashioned hotel to the amazing hotel it has become with the new owners. We received a very friendly welcome and told that our room had been upgraded. The room was beautiful with amazing views in every direction. Fresh milk and homemade biscuits were a treat. Treats for our labrador as well! The bed and pillows were so comfy with good quality bed linen and toiletries (some hand cream/body lotion would have been nice) We ate in the restaurant hotel in the evening and the food was amazing. We were on a stay and dine package which was good value. Good choice on the menu and beautifully cooked and presented. James served us and was very friendly and knowledgeable Breakfast was also very good and all served at the table. The homemade granola and smoked haddock omelette were delicious. Can't wait to come back!

We went for an anniversary meal. We had booked a table for 7pm, but someone had turned up and hour earlier than they had booked and their order was taken, so we then had to wait as there was a backlog in the kitchen. After 30 mins my husband had to enquire when our table would be ready ( I have diabetes) We were not overly impressed. The food was good and the atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming. James was very knowledgeable about the food. The cocktails were good. Although we're local we haven't been there before but have heard good things. We didn't realise dogs were now allowed so it was a bit of surprise finding 7 dogs in the lounge when we arrived ( all on leads and behaved) To be honest , if we had known about the dogs we probably wouldn't have gone 🫤

Never fails to live up to all expectations. A lovely old hotel with the best staff anywhere. This was our fourth year of returning to celebrate our anniversary and we love it. Views over the bay from our room was outstanding as is the food served in the restaurant, you won’t go hungry after starting the day with the Bay breakfast. If you want a relaxing, quality break come and stay here. Until this time next year. Thank you to all at this hotel who make it very special.

Great location and weather. Amazing food, we had a starter and Sunday lunch. We felt it was let down slightly by the waiting staff. More training required. Did mention this to management and hopefully will improve. Wouldnt stop us returning.

Positives: It is a spectacular spot. Coverack is stunning and this place is right on the front. Reception staff, very friendly. Negatives: Rooms small. Breakfast, bar and meal services are very poor. Hour wait for breakfast, cocktails never arrived, so cancelled them. Very expensive. For the 3 night stay, we could have had 10 days abroad.

Lovely breakfast spot, really high quality food and good value as well. It includes tea/coffee, juice, granola with fruit and yoghurt, croissants and a main course as well. The homemade granola is delicious and the cooked breakfast is so nice, especially the mushroom. Friendly staff and lovely views, even when it’s misty. The 10% local discount for the Lizard peninsula residents is great as well. Nice to see local businesses supporting the community.
