We spent 5 nights in a twin room in the main building during February. The location is great for the town, but it's a good 5+ minute walk from the gondola, we rented a ski locker by the gondola as it was too far to be carrying skis and walking in ski boots. There is no bus. The boot room at the hotel is also in an adjoining building so not particularly convenient. The staff/owners obviously take pride in their hotel and it was kept very clean and a good breakfast provided. Our room was quite dated, i found the bed very hard the the pillow was awful. We overlooked the valley and the room was quite noisy with late night revellers and bottle banks being emptied at dawn. The hotel tried to encourage being environmentally friendly, but provides single use paper cups and plastic spoons for tea and coffee in the room so mixed messages there. Whilst our stay was perfectly adequate i wouldn't return as i don't feel it was particularly good value for money considering how much we paid (understand it was peak ski season). Absolutely loved Courmayeur though and will definitely return to the resort.

I think this might have been the best service we have ever had from a hotel large or small - from the moment we arrived the hotel team have been incredible. Nothing is too much trouble, everything is done with a smile and you feel so welcome. One evening they surprised the kids with marshmallows to roast in the fire pits outside the hotel which they loved. The hotel is just two minutes from the pedestrianised part of Courmayeur so easy for shopping. The gondola is just 8 minute walk away so handy to get up to the ski slopes. The rooms are lovely with incredible mountain views (the picture is the view from our room) and the breakfast sets you up for the day. Thank you Hotel Berthod for a wonderful stay - we will be back!

The hotel was great, good location, fantastic breakfast, friendly staff. It is a 10 minute walk to the Funivie and we were told there was a shuttle from the hotel which there isn't, but that is the fault of the tour operator. I would ask to stay in a room at the back as those at the front are noisy with late revellers returning and early morning deliveries. Otherwise I recommend!

I was traveling with a group of hiking friends hiking the TMB. We had a rest day here. I booked a massage at Hotel Berthod with Lorenzo A. After the massage, I discovered he had filmed my massage entirely from the moment I stepped in the door til getting dressed and without consent. He denied this. Such a disgusting, vile act. I have tried contacting authorities from the US but no action has been taken or investigated. Be on the lookout for phone cameras with green lights aglow in private situations. Hotel Berthod refused to take action against the massage therapist either. It’s too bad because Courmayeur is a beautiful city but is now tainted with this memory for me. I was really hoping to report this crime but since the local police are not taking this seriously, I feel it’s important for others to know and to be vigilant while traveling. This experience has shaken me and every time the news reveals more crimes similar to this, I am sickened. My hunch is that I’m not the only one who he has done this to and who knows if it’s gone beyond filming. His activities must be exposed and dealt with.

This is a large family run hotel with an annexe, in the middle of Courmayeur. 2 minutes walk from the pedestrianised Via Roma. There are 2 buildings, the main original hotel and a newer annex across a small access road. There is a tunnel linking them if weather is bad. The main hotel is classic alpine but with a degree of modernity/recent refurbishment. It has a small but well stocked bar. And a pleasant lounge. There is a large lovely breakfast room with great views of the Chetif and main cable. There is easy access from the main road with free parking for about 12 cars and underground parking (reservable) at €20 a day. We had a suite on the top floor, 3 balconies, all with views of the mountains. Lift access. The modern annexe rooms are a bit more spacious. Staff were friendly and fantastic. Mr Berthod makes the tea and coffee in the morning. Best espressos I had all week. Breakfast spread very comprehensive. Our only suggestion - some pictures on the walls of rooms. 10 mins easy walk from main cable car to Plan Checrouit.

We’re one adult and two teenagers on a hiking trip - TMB. The room is clean and nice. The balconies are small but the view is excellent. The breakfast was very nice - fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheeses….a lot to choose between. The hotel has an antique atmosphere but still modern.

Unfortunately, the owners son is now running the hotel, and is simply awful. It’s hard to believe that he’s in the hospitality business. It was his father that created the name for the Croix Blanche and this hotel, and he is running this business into the ground.

Just stayed here for a week of skiing as a family of 5 with two other families, totalling 12 people. The staff are exceptional and went out of their way to help right from the start of booking up to the last day of our holiday. We stayed in rooms on the first floor and all were lovely rooms. Rooms 106 is smaller than the others but still more than adequate. They delivered continental breakfast to the rooms for one family too. The fire pit area outside was a nice touch and greet meeting point and they even served us snacks when we were ordering drinks and sat for a while. The only one thing to be aware of is that the water temperature in the shower is tempremental so watch this with small children as can go from warm to boiling hot or freezing cold. Fab hotel thank you for looking after us

Centrally located in the village and very easy to find (for first time travellers to Courmayeur), clean and great value. Has car parking underground which is useful although space is quite limited - worthwhile booking the spot in advance. Breakfast is good, with some gluten free options and some tables even look out onto the mountains. Staff are friendly and helpful and helped us book restaurants even at last minute. Great stay!
