Called in for dinner after a day in hospital. Got roast beef(chefs secial) and a caeser salad.salad was mediocre and rost beef was so dry I asked for more gravy.then it was edible.imagine the surprise we got when we checked the bill.some random drink (which we didn't have) and peppercorn sauce 😳 for 2.95.i only asked for extra gravy.barman said he put drink on by mistake and told me to speak to manager about gravy🙄needless to say we wouldn't go back

My children and I absolutely loved the petting zoo and the pool In the hotel! Rooms were spotless, the beds were so comfy. The breakfast was amazing! Black pudding best I've ever tasted! Such friendly staff! We loved our stay!

We had a lovely one night state here while up visiting the area. The hotel was very busy but the staff were so friendly helpful and accommodating. They are a massive asset to the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the Sunday Carvery was excellent. The staff in the Gastro bar were also so welcoming and made sure we got fed even when we ran late. I will definitely go back.

Stayed here for a family wedding. Great venue for a wedding - friendly staff, large comfortable rooms and beautiful surroundings. Nice food - only slight disappointment was the breakfast - basic enough and no quality coffee. Otherwise would strongly recommend.

We attended a wedding in this hotel and were allocated a room with a view of a lake which we did not ask for. We were charged approximately 60 euros extra for the room. ( more than other wedding guests ) We requested a room without a view of the lake but were refused. On first entering the room we noticed there was actually a busy and noisy road between the room with a view ( room 234 ) and the end of a lake. We were not made aware at any point in time that our room was going to be badly affected by the noise from a wedding reception being held that night. This is something the manager must have been aware of when charging us extra. Needless to say we weren’t able to sleep until 3 am as the noise was horrific. We asked to be moved that night but were refused. We were moved the following morning to a dreary very large room with 3 beds with old carpets, really old furniture no safe, and overlooking a fence. There were no phone chargers beside the bed and there was a blood stain on the bed cover. The room temperature was 25% and the room thermostat did not allow us to change it. We spoke to the night receptionist who said that only the day reception staff could alter heating. Again needless to say it was impossible to sleep. The next day the receptionist told us her only option was to switch it off completely which wasn’t acceptable. The manager was extremely unhelpful when we contacted him later. He refused to make any reimbursement for our distress and lack of sleep or offer a better room which we knew was available as our friends managed to book a nice room the following day. We did pay slightly less for the unwelcoming room ( 20 euros ) but it was still more than our other friends played for a much nicer room. The managers response was that they take great pride in providing a quality service. When asked was he proud of the quality service he provided us with, he didn’t response. On checking other reviews. The manager seems to adopt this standard response of them taking great pride in providing a quality service without actually dealing with any distress caused. I would not stay here again based on managements response and the distress caused. Do not stay in room 234 if there is a wedding on or room 102 as it is too old and antiquated
