We had such a lovely time at The Shandon Hotel. We were upgraded to a seaview room on arrival, which was such a thoughtful surprise — and honestly, the view was incredible. Looking out over the water every morning was the perfect way to start the day. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell they genuinely care about guests having a good experience. The food was fantastic too — fresh, tasty, and plenty of choice whether you’re after something casual or a bit more special. Can’t recommend The Shandon enough for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of Donegal. Thanks again to the whole team — we’ll definitely be back!

People make places and that is very true of the great staff here. Brilliant reception team, always keen to help in anyway and advise on the area. And Nial, so comical yet professional, a great welcome from him to start the day at the fantastic breakfast spread. Marble Hill is like your own private beach.The Spa is so relaxing with great offers; thank you to Evelyn for being so welcoming and organising extras, and Mags and Eileen for the fantastic facials with latest Red light therapy! The rooms are spacious and comfy with great walk in shower option for my Mum. Planning to return with friends group next time! A special corner of Donegal!

The Shandon Hotel is amazing we were a group of ten celebrating a 50th birthday. The staff couldn't do enough for us. We had to cojoing rooms,they had little treats in each room and a lovely card for the birthday girl. We enjoyed the thermal suite and our treatments were the best ever. We had dinner included in our package which was amazing, the best food ever I tasted. The waitress was also super friendly. The rooms are spotless with the most breathtaking views ever. I have stayed at the Shandon Hotel twice now and I'm already looking into booking my next visit. Look forward to my next visit Regards Lorraine Gallagher

Although the hotel was fully booked, with lots of families, our room was in a quiet location. It was a lovely big bedroom with an amazing view. It was clean and well presented. The trip was a 2 night stay for a birthday present for my partner. The hotel staff were lovely and placed a birthday card and some lovely sweet treats in the bedroom for our arrival. Nice touch. The bar and resturant staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and we certainly didn’t leave feeling hungry. We used, the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, which we had to ourselves mid afternoon. Great weekend break, and one to which we will most definitely return.

I stayed here many a times at Xmas with my family and had the worst experience, after check out over a 48 hours later I got a call to accuse me my husband and daughter of breaking the t.v (we obviously did no such thing) she threatened us, she was so nasty via email and on the phone and was extremely rude and unprofessional we have not and will not ever stay. I seen previous comments from people who had unfortunate ly same experience with manager Carolyne, there is a reply she says they are the 1st customer they put on welcome lost that is a lie she told me we were barred also. We never broke a t.v we are a young family who went to see Santa, I'm sure someone stayed in room after us given time of contact after checkout 48 hours and no proof just a wild accusation which caused so much stress for us, worst experience needs to go back to customer service please get a new manager she is awful

Just had an Amazing time in the Beautiful Shandon Hotel & Spa, celebrating my birthday, not to mention the breathtaking views as it overlooks the picturesque views of Marble Hill Beach. Carolynne & Team really take care of their guests ensuring a pleasant stay. A real treat to nourish & rejuvenate the Body Mind & Spirit in the Spa also. Food in the restaurant was fab. Treat yourself to this amazing experience you will leave feeling reenergised, rebalanced & grounded.

This is my third time staying in this hotel and Spa, the second time with my friends celebrating special birthdays. The hotel is fabulous and the location is breathtaking. The rooms are very spacious and the views over Sheephaven Bay are amazing. We were disappointed that our reservation for Marbles restaurant was cancel at short notice. We were given a window table in the bar and the bar food was amazing although not the fine dining we had experienced on our other stays. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We did however appreciate the card and gift plate brought to our room after check-in to apologise for our reservation bring cancelled. The spa is lovely and relaxing and the cocktails were amazing. The leisure centre was lovely a quiet in the morning for a few laps before check-out. The breakfast was to die for, a fantastic selection and very attentive staff. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will be back soon for another special birthday.

We are not long home from The Shandon Hotel, and we just have to return. The staff are friendly and efficient. The bedroom was clean, there was plenty of storage space, plenty of tea, coffee, etc. There's a shelf for toiletries in the bathroom ( quite a few hotels don't have anywhere to put toiletries except the floor). The relaxed ambience of the foyer area is so pleasant. Our food at Beats Bar was excellent and, of course, looking out over Sheephaven Bay is spectacular. Without doubt this is "The place to go to"

The entrance into the hotel and the reception area is absolutely stunning and that’s before you turn around to take in the breathtaking views of Donegal. The staff throughout our stay were very friendly and helpful, they always were at hand to help. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. My only reservation was the heat on the room and not being able to control the temperature ourselves. The bathroom was clean and well equipped. We had breakfast included and it was lovely, the menu in beats bar was great along with the food. We thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, they were beautiful. The leisure centre, namely the children’s pool that we got to use was a great size and the staff had toys for the children which was brilliant. A lovely touch having fresh water and plastic cups available in the leisure centre. Location wise, the hotel sits perfectly remote yet very accessible to Dunfanaghy itself. Unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to use the spa on this occasion but certainly will make that a priority when we return.
