BRU Bar & Hostel

We decided to stay here as it was such good value and I’m glad we did. We had a private room (bunk beds) on the 3rd floor which was really clean and had an en-suite shower and toilet. We received a very friendly welcome and everyone’s very helpful. The bar had great music each night but didn’t disturb us when we went to bed. The breakfast was basic but plenty to set you up for the day. I think it is better than described and I would definitely stay again.

We were looking for a great value weekend stay in Cork and came across Bru Hostel. It was really conveniently located for the city and routes out of the city. We knew it was over a pub and had bunk beds in the private room so took ear plugs and were prepared. The room was great, basic but immaculately clean with its own small bathroom with shower. The bar had a great atmosphere with music every night we were there, the staff were helpful and friendly. What more can you ask for!

We booked a private double room with a bathroom. You get what you pay for. The room was mostly clean though there were some ants by the trash in the room. The bathroom was clean and very basic. The beds were a little hard for my taste. This hostel does sit over a bar so keep that in mind. The music and singing lasted well into the night. I was unbothered as I was so exhausted I slept right thru. Breakfast is included, with some toast and cereal. Overall you get what you pay for. If you want something more grand then pay for a real hotel.

Staying with friends in Cork and looking for group accommodation? This is the place to be ! Bru is a great clean and safe hostel accommodation with light breakfast each day with the added option of cooking one’s own food . Facilities such as towel hire and luggage storage also available. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The ground floor bar has a great range of drinks and bar food is also available. Regular live music makes for a real party atmosphere. It’s centrally located and in easy access of all Cork has to offer.

Comfy bed. Very clean. Staff so helpful and friendly. Ideally located. Best hostel I ever stayed at. Use of kitchen very handy. Socket and light beside each bed. Onsite bar is convenient. Great music each night.

I have been traveling all summer and stayed in a lot of hostels and let me tell you this one is not worth the money!!! Deeply regret booking this place as it has a bar downstairs which blasts music until 1 am every night. That I could get over, but after you are kept up all night then the cleaner comes and busts in, playing music and singing her heart out at 9 am. Not to mention the mattress is hard as an actual rock and the pillow is useless. Don’t waste your money.
