The Old Medical Hall

Super location for exploring the town and so near the sea! It was lovely to wake up and walk over the road to the harbour. Great shower in our bathroom, the room had everything we needed and the bed linen was gorgeous. Warm welcome from our host, we even had a special treat homebaked for us which we loved! We would recommend this place to go and stay.

Stayed 3 nights early January which may explain why it was so cheap at only a total of €142-50. Location very good, room adequate, bathroom excellent, all very clean,heating excellent, staff excellent. Breakfast, one of the best I have ever had, and that would include numerous 5 star hotels. Considering the price I would highly recommend the Old Medical Hall.

Very unique b and b in an old pharmacy. That said the bathroom was large and modern. You have to climb some steep stairs, but it is an old building and comes with the experience. We had a slight problem with the door lock but there is a bakery on the ground floor and a woman came over and showed us the trick. The lock was original to the building, so it worked in a opposite handle direction to modern locks so once she showed us how it worked no further issues. The breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast we had in Ireland in 5 weeks, perfect. Perhaps to be expected with a bakery in the b and b. It was also the only truly good coffee we had during the trip. Parking is across the street, we had no issues, and no charges. Easy walk to the piers, perfectly situated location. We had dinner in Breen's Lobster Bar and it was terrific.
