This was, without a doubt, the worst dinner service we’ve ever experienced. We started by ordering the potato skins, which turned out to be just regular chips. When I requested mayonnaise—as listed on the menu—we were inexplicably given vinegar instead. I tried to get the attention of the staff to correct this, but no one was paying any attention to our table. Eventually, I had to walk around the restaurant to find a waiter. When I politely pointed out the mix-up, the waiter curtly responded, “I’ve put the vinegar on your table already.” I clarified again that we had asked for mayonnaise, to which she snapped back, “I’ll go and get it now.” Not only that, but although there were four of us at the table, we were only given two dips. We also ordered a bottle of prosecco, which was simply dropped off at the table without being poured or presented. When we ordered a second bottle, the same thing happened—except this time we were given red wine glasses instead of flutes. We also had to request for the table to be cleared after each course—multiple times. Plates were left in front of us long after we’d finished eating, and no one came by to check in or offer to clear them until we repeatedly asked. As this was a birthday celebration, we had pre-arranged for the cake to be served after the meal. Unfortunately, this was a complete disaster. None of the staff seemed to know anything about the arrangement. After 20 minutes, someone returned to say, “I’ve checked and you haven’t ordered any desserts.” We explained again that it was a birthday cake, already cleared with management. When the cake finally arrived, it was brought out without plates, forks, or napkins. Once again, we had to ask for the bare essentials. And when we finally received the plates and cutlery, the plates were inexplicably warm—even though it was a cold dessert cake. There was no offer to cut the cake, take a family photo, or even remove the candle before serving. Overall, this was a shockingly poor experience. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to improve future service. I’ve noticed responses to other reviews seem defensive rather than reflective, which is disappointing. At the end of the day, this is a business, and guest experiences should be taken seriously.
