This hotel was previously a Marriott and is now a bit run down, but with the view it has, if you have a bridge facing room, there is honestly nowhere else to stay you should stay in Constantine. The room was comfortable and staff super friendly but it is the view which makes it so amazing.

Seemingly 5 minutes before we arrived, Marriott pulled out and new owners took over. Even though Marriott signage is everywhere, even on the Kleenex box, it is not Marriott. Neverthless, the place was clean, served a decent (meaning abundant) buffet breakfast. Ate sumptious dinner there the evening we arrived. No complaints at all from me. I wonder when the new management will get their bearings. Sooner the better. Fine location, rooms with view of Constantine and it's bridges.

Stayed for 2 nights in July and this has to be one of my most memorable hotel stays ever! Great room with excellent views of the city. Breakfast buffet spread was awesome. Shout out to Ghofrane for being such a an angel. I reached the hotel late at night and was starving and she was extremely kind enough to sort out my dinner even though the restaurant was about to close and she was ending her shift. Love your energy and personality Ghofrane! Also to the reception lady (didn’t manage to get her name) who checked me in for her exceptional customer service. She got me a complimentary desset platter upon knowing that it was my birthday. I was extremely touched by this unexpected gesture. Keep up the awesome work ladies and the staff at Protea Constantine. True Algerian hospitality at its best!

We very much enjoyed our one night stay in this hotel. Everyone was extremely friendly and the room, although smallish, was clean, comfortable and well planned and had everything in it that one would need. Lovely views of the bridges. It’s serves alcohol and the food was fine, lots of fresh fruit at breakfast which was nice.

There is Marriott branding all over the hotel but when I tried to give. my Bonvoy number at check in I was told they’re not longer affiliated. Very confusing. Just checked in but food was mediocre and the one elevator causes waits and back ups so it’s been six flights of stairs to the room. Marriott needs to step up or remove their name entirely.

This hotel was not only filthy and disgusting, their dishonest business practices will have me booking the Novotel in the future. I booked three nights here through the Marriott portal using 21,000 points. I am a platinum member. The hotel is so dirty I thought about switching right away. I am including a photo of the grimy desktop with a stain from a previous guest. The worst part of this entire stay is that, upon checking in I asked if I could check out one day early. The front desk told me it would be no problem and that the 7,000 points for that night would just be returned to my account. I told them that I would let them know for sure the following day. The next morning I confirmed with them that I would indeed be checking out one day early and they again told me no problem. I could check out tomorrow and they would return the points. I checked out the next morning and was again told that the points would just be returned to my account. I have called Marriott corporate multiple times and the hotel now keeps closjng the case and hasn’t returned my points. Marriott is telling me I have to deal directly with the hotel. This has been a huge, frustrating, waste of time and I advise any future travelers to stay in the much better located Novotel or Ibis hotel if you are in Constantine.

Protea hotel is tucked at a quiet corner away from the hustle and bustle of Constantine downtown. the best feature is the perfect view of the Sidi Rached concrete stone bridge offered from some of the rooms. i was given a complimentary upgrade to this room and watched sunset from my room it also has parking onsite, though limited in numbers, and operates on a first-come-first-serve basis. upon arrival, the security guard directed me to park my car. reception staff are also kind, warm, and speak english. i was given a plate of fresh fruits upon check in to the room. lovely welcome. the onsite restaurant serves great chorba frik, which is apparently a constantine specialty. one thing is for sure, i will never get tired of the soups and stews in algeria, most of which i dont even know the names for. all i know is so far, i havent tasted one which i didnt love.

A conveniently located hotel with comfortable rooms and nice view of bridges from the rooms. A comfortable lounge for a drink with great views. The rooms are small but very clean and very comfortable. The restaurant is adequate but it is near some very nice restaurants in this wonderful and interesting city. It is a nice place to stay.
