The Old Bakehouse

We really enjoyed our break at the Old Bakehouse in early March, and the friendly owners Steve and Fiona couldn’t be more welcoming. The freshly painted rooms are spotlessly clean as well as cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of options. Being big fans of vinyl records, we really appreciated the opportunity to browse through the wide selection and choose what to play. The B&B is in the heart of Colyton, near pubs and shops, and we found it to be a great base to explore the Jurassic coast. We highly recommend!

An enjoyable comfortable stay with a tasty full English breakfast and welcoming hosts. Small children not advertised as catered for but upon communication our 18 month granddaughter was welcomed. We needed to supply our own travel cot and high chair. Located convenient for town centre. Limited parking

From our first arrival we were met by a very friendly and happy to help host Steve. Both him and Fiona made our stay enjoyable as they couldn’t do enough for us (Bacon sandwiches may now appear on the breakfast menu). The room and the en suite we had were clean, the bed was very comfortable and the tea and coffee facilities excellent. Car parking in the street was easily available just around the corner in Govers Meadow. Although Steve and Fiona don’t supply evening meals, the pub across the road, The Kingfisher, has a very good evening menu.The B&b also allows easy access to the local resorts of Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth amongst others. The tram station from Colyton to Seaton is a 15 minute walk away. Both myself and my wife would highly recommend staying at the Old Bakehouse.

Lovely quaint b and b, run by Steve and his wife. Very warm welcome and a lovely room with private bathroom. Very clean and stylish, local artworks for sale on the walls. Steve has a big record collection and we chatted musical taste, he said he'd chose an album to play for us at breakfast. We ate in the kingfisher arms opposite, good food nice pub. We walked around the pretty little town of Colyton. Slept well and enjoyed a spectacular cooked breakfast with quality local ingredients. Steve also got the music just right. Would stay again.

Steve and Fiona are a charming, welcoming and very helpful couple. The Old Bakehouse is comfortable, scrupulously clean and the breakfasts are excellent. The beds are comfortable too! Its location is ideaaly placed in the centre of Colyton and there is much to do in the vicinity.

Brilliant breakfast , clean and comfortable room , excellent hosts , lovely location and excellent base for exploring East Devon. Kingfisher pub opposite for excellent food made the holiday relaxing , and other food options included a chippie in the square Worth every penny.
