Colchester Town Centre

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Mainly towards a lady that works there called Jess. We arrived at the hotel and she was lovely from the get go. We got to our room and all was fine but our son is too long for the travel cot so I asked to have a spare duvet and pillows and I was just going to have him on the floor! Or my husband on the floor. The lady insisted no and looked for a bigger room for us, she found a quad room and the size, cleanliness and everything was perfect and we had an amazing nights sleep in between my son being unwell. Unfortunately we were meant to be there for 2 nights but had to leave after 1 due to my son having a sickness bug. The hotel itself is perfect and everything you need but if you’re greeted with Jess then it’s an even better stay. It makes being away from home better when you know there is someone nice around. We will be returning here when we are back in Colchester.

It was a Lovely hotel. All the staff were so friendly and very helpful. The food was some of the best food I’ve had in a premier inn. The food was served nice and quick and lovely presentation. The beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for one night and was very happy with the service I received by the bar staff. Both Maria and Kevin were very friendly! Helpful and seemed to have a nice laugh with each other throughout the evening which was nice to see. Made my business enjoyable. Would definitely return.

Lovely hotel in really nice location! Visited this hotel with my partner and our 6 month old baby and we’re chuffed with the service we received. Only stayed for two days but will definitely be back! Special thanks to the morning staff (Kevin and Maria) who were on hand to help us through our breakfast with our little one. Would recommend.

Worst hotel stay ever. We stayed here with our kids for a half term break. They stuck us in a boiling hot room that wouldn’t cool down. They knew the room was unsuitable but still stuck us in there. It was in February, cold outside but we were sweating in our room. We complained on the 1st day but they couldn’t move us. This completely ruined our stay. When they finally moved us, our stay was over the next morning. They refused to compensate us for the horrendous stay because they moved us eventually on final night of our stay. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE business. Ruined the holiday for us and the 3 kids.

We stayed for 2 nights as a relaxing valentines break away and to visit Colchester Zoo. The location is great, the room was clean and bed very comfortable. The room above us on both nights woke us up multiple times in the night so didn’t sleep great, was lots of footsteps and banging, not sure what they were doing but for what we paid, we didn’t really want to complain about it. The carpark was a massive problem though, on check in, we were told we needed to scan a QR code to pay for the carpark when we leave and if there wasn’t enough space, we could use a discount code for the NCP which is a couple mins up the road. The first night was fine, we’d parked on check in and walked into town for food so no problem there but the 2nd night, we had been at the Zoo and couldn’t get a space when we got back. We remembered about the NCP so parked up there, felt a bit unsecure leaving our car up there and quite an uphill walk to bear in mind when carrying bags back up in the morning! On check out, no one was there so we dropped room cards in the box and went to pay for our first night of parking- it only let us select 2 nights so we had to pay double the amount of parking even though we only stayed 1 night there. Also, with the NCP, the check in staff didn’t mention you need to download the app and put in the discount code prior to entering the carpark which meant we didn’t get discount for that nights parking too so massively overpaid on parking. Please make sure you download the app and add the discount code if you’re planning on using the carpark!
