Stayed here with my daughter for 2 nights this week for a trip to Alton Towers which is about a 15 minute drive from here. Our host Tina was absolutely lovely and really welcoming. Breakfast was generous and delicious. I really loved the oatcake which was a first for me. Jam and marmalade was homemade and Tina will even make you a packed lunch for a small fee if you ask. I think it was £4 which was a great idea. They also offer lifts for a small fee within a short distance. Thus is an ideal location for many local attractions and dinner at the nearby Royal Oak was really good and great value for money. Our room was beautifully clean and very cosy with an enormous bathroom. A lovely stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly, very luxurious and well priced. From the moment we met Tina, we felt welcome. The accommodation was beyond excellent.A Good nights sleep proves that. Good was good, and the optional taxi service into town and back was welcome.

A lovely traditional bed and breakfast, all the comforts of home with a charming hostess who has had many years of experience making her guests feel at home . I stayed as a solo traveller , my room was at the front looking into a road, it has a clean fresh en-suite shower room with towels and toiletries supplied , a small colour tv , tea and coffee making facilities with chocolate biscuits , a hair drier and free WiFi . Free car parking at the rear . Breakfast is included and there’s plenty of choice but I went for grapefruit and then full English including Derbyshire oatcake and black pudding . I noticed there is also what looks like a self contained holiday cottage on site . I really enjoyed my stay, slept well and couldn’t recommend highly enough . The other guests who were staying were going to Alton Towers which is apparently very close by , so that might be a big plus for some .

Comfortable , but if you are a light sleeper it's right on the A52 and a front bedroom wouldn't be ideal We had wonderful vista of the rear garden, masses of beautifil tubs, hanging baskets,farmland and cattle Secluded, sunny sitting out are for guests at the rear , with garden armchairs and coffee table. Excellent breakfast menu , perfectly cooked, beautifully set table, immaculate and charming ground floor area. Upstairs- the Bathroom we had was enormous , as large as the bedroom, and although the electric shower unit itself was very 1980s, the separate bath, basin and loo were very modern. Everything very clean. Bed comfy and looked new. The room is let down by dated and tired furniture. Finances must be limited post Covid and this lovely lady is doing everything herself and on her own.
